When I called the police on my wife I was told that spitting on someone is assault. As is breaking someones laptop, tablet etc. Was this person charged?

Oh you'd be surprised, America is not like the U.K, there are a large number of thinktanks, institutions, civil liberty groups and political organizations that are greatly concerned with the level of civil liberties, access to justice and the like that other nations have.

You will find a broader rejection of Canada and Ontario specifically as citizens like myself have been able to discreetly provide specific details of my experience going back decades. Allies of human rights and civil liberties are the reason America is still the most desired nation for citizens to flock to.
