Woman fired from Century 21 for expressing Trump support (rudely)

So you continue to believe what you want to believe despite having no substantial evidence to support your belief.

You can do so, but I’ll point out this is nonsense.

I believe it because it would seem very silly that there wasn't a law out there against it. I simply don't know what it's called. I can't believe that, if I had information about someone, even if that information is true, but I KNEW it could bring harm to that person...all the way from a small matter, all the way up to death, and i released this information publicly, and that harm came to someone, that i couldn't be held accountable. Especially if I am the owner of a business who is the one who released that information about one of my customers.

When you are inside a business, you don't expect them to take actions to bring harm to their customers, even if they are a piece of shit

Such a law would be blatantly unconstitutional. The first amendment is expansive for good reason.

Yeah, but we already have laws that limit free speech....so this wouldn't be out of the norm.

You cant slander or libel someone, those are not legal, so how could it be legal for a business to publicly dox someone with intent to bring harm to them?

Loo at it like this, by your standard, it would be perfectly legal for someone to go around and dox people to their enemies, hoping that they would be killed...you'd say thats free speech...you're saying THAT is legal? There has to be a law about it..I simply don't know what it's called

Libel and slander have deep roots in common law.

You’re mis

Theres a lot case law about this, and requires the speech to represent a “true threat”.

A reasonable person has to see the speech as representing a threat, and complaining that a patron acted like a jerk is not a threat.

In fact, a lot of case law came out of people doxxing abortion providers.

I understand that. But you're expecting me to believe that a person could knowing cause the death of someone else, and it's completely legal. Sorry, I don't buy that.

This goes beyond someone complaining a patron acted like a jersey. This is a business taking an action that harmed someone.

I'm really surprised there isn't a law on doxxing itself. Back in 2016, one was introduced in congress and it never went anywhere.

However, if you are saying that truly, a person could knowing cause the death of someone else, even if the method by which it happened was totally legal, and not be against the law..that's fd up.

Again, I'm not buying it, there has to be a section in law about things like that...otherwise people could (and probably would) find "legal" ways to get other people killed.
