WWII with Tom Hanks

I think you can get a primer on this series from their website, I don't know if this is 20 hours long or not. All the so-called experts will be blathering on, and it will surely be another round of how many people of different genders/races/backgrounds can we call an expert? If its 20 hours than it will be too much blathering.

History Channel has a 20 part series?

Hanks has been involved in some pretty good WWII film making, from SPR, to BoB, to The Pacific, so hopefully what he learned from Spielberg can make a 20 part series hold your interest.

I did like him in 'Charlie Wilson's War'

Will check out at some point, it is not streaming anywhere without ads which is kind of crazy - this is 2026.
Depends on how it was done - if it includes commentary from people who are not historians represented as if they do - then hard pass.

That was my biggest concern, the all races/all sexes commentary that focuses on virtue signalling and not WWII. While everyone is represented, the actual time spent commenting is always brief, even if you don't care for them, they don't talk for long, and in the first 5 hours, there are new commenters in every episode. It was done pretty well, overall.

Some are history professors, some are podcasters, some are authors, and some are bonafide experts, like Sir Antony Beevor.

Hanks is a ******* pedophile who cares what that criminal says?

Where does that actually come from - Hanks and pedophile?
He is not in the Epstein files, where is this coming from? I have seen numerous people say that.
All I have seen are fabricated social media rumors etc. that have been debunked.

After spending countless hours watching and reading about the Holocaust, I still found epsiode 7, "Darkness Falls", to be quite distressing. As with any documentary on the subject, you have to delicately balance the enormity of these crimes while shielding the viewer from too much information, and I was impressed with the balance taken here. That said, it was still upsetting, as it should be, when retelling what took place.
