Yeah that is respectable honestly. But that is no longer the world we live in. For awhile now going back decades folks areHey I'm a retired Marine... the only way we were allowed to wear our covers indoors was if we also had a duty belt on... so still today when I walk through a door my hat comes off...

The student was disruptive by his refusal to comply. I’ll agree that she shouldn’t have physically removed his hat. But it’s clear he provoked that. She threatened to call security and perhaps she should have. But the entire episode could have been avoided by the student’s compliance. Again, we don’t have enough evidence to convict the teacher nor exonerate the student. What do you base that on? He was assaulted while sitting at his desk. Again, the video is limited. We have no idea what happened before hand, but with the evidence shown, he did nothing to justify the teacher removing a piece of his clothing. A hat is clothing. She is charged with maintaining order, not disrupting it.
Protocol is protocol.Semper Fi, but clearly a civilian school is not the Marine Corps.
His gulf of America complaint makes him look like the guilty one looking for a fight. I doubt any map pretty much anywhere has been updated yet.Did you not hear the student say that the map in the classroom uses the term “Gulf of mexico” but it should say gulf Of America….he is wearing a Maga hat …he also talked about the stupidity of wokeness
Your also not talking about the teacher causing a physical confrontation. she is not justified in that….she would need to call security or police to physically remove the student ..
Whats a pajama button?Just a couple of weeks ago, I received all sorts of criticism because I expressed disapproval of kids wearing pajama buttons to class (as happens frequently here in my liberal county).
And now people are up in arms because a kid is wearing a hat?!
I didn't see him provoke anything. He was calmly sitting in his seat until he was assaulted. I don't know if I would have kept my composure if someone took a piece of my clothing off of me. She was clearly WRONG. There was no justification for assault shown in the video. But it’s clear he provoked that.
With respect this ain’t the old days anymore, my friend. You can go travel across the country walking into a classroom. There is a good chance you’re going to see numerous students wearing all different types of headgear for different reasons. Some religious some not.The student was disruptive by his refusal to comply. I’ll agree that she shouldn’t have physically removed his hat. But it’s clear he provoked that. Many here can’t grasp that. I hope they don’t end up on a jury.
I’m going by the world we live in today. And that is one that sees college students wearing hats or doo rags , etc across the country. His gulf of America complaint makes him look like the guilty one looking for a fight. I doubt any map pretty much anywhere has been updated yet.
She did threaten to contact security which is in the video which is all we have to go on.
Pajamas are a top and bottom set that normal people, especially children, sleep in, and then they change into clothes before they leave the house.Whats a pajama button?
I wondered the same thing. Why is a student wearing a hat in class?
He provoked it by denying the teacher’s request to remove his hat.I didn't see him provoke anything. He was calmly sitting in his seat until he was assaulted. I don't know if I would have kept my composure if someone took a piece of my clothing off of me. She was clearly WRONG. There was no justification for assault shown in the video.
Ok, I thought it was some special type of button, not a pajama bottom.Pajamas are a top and bottom set that normal people, especially children, sleep in, and then they change into clothes before they leave the house.
Here in my crazy liberal area, kids wear them to school. I see them at the grocery store and the public library too.
In this world today you cannot walk into a courtroom or a room where authority is designated and disregard that authority. That results in chaos. It’s not an ‘old school’ thing. With respect this ain’t the old days anymore, my friend. You can go travel across the country walking into a classroom. There is a good chance you’re going to see numerous students wearing all different types of headgear for different reasons. Some religious some not.

Also one which frowns upon even legally punishes a teacher for laying their hands on a student in the way that the teacher did in the video shown.
Now I agree that hats should not be allowed in a classroom. But that opens up a bucket of worms because a student can say that the hat is being used for religious purposes. Or the hat is being used to cover up some kind of a cancer spot or something like that.
As was the teacher. Her job is to maintain order, not create chaos. The video showed a student sitting at his desk and assaulted by a teacher who had clearly lost control of her emotions.
Oh…..was that your way of pointing out I had a typo?Ok, I thought it was some special type of button, not a pajama bottom.
I agree about the hat in the classroom. But I'll bet if it was a black guy wearing a blm hat and a white teacher did the exact same thing. You would be outraged. Its her class. she can lock the door and expel anyone who doesn't come in on time. the moment he stood up he should have been permanently kicked out of the class.
.I wondered the same thing.
It would depend on school rules if you're allowed to wear a hat. From the ACLU:
- Schools can have rules that have nothing to do with the message expressed, like dress codes. So, for example, a school can prohibit you from wearing hats — because that rule is not based on what the hats say — but it can’t prohibit you from wearing only pink pussycat hats or pro-NRA hats.https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/students-rights
There is no right or wrong in this unless we know what the school policy on hats are.
No i thought it was some special thing.Oh…..was that your way of pointing out I had a typo?
pajamas? Thats weird, but sounds comfy. Here I thought you must be from some backward tribe in the Congo who never heard of pajamas.
