I wouldn't read too much into the 2020 election if I were the Democrats given that the circumstances of that election were highly unusual.

IMHO the Democrats need to do better and figure out a way to get the majority of the public to like them again, their brand is damaged. Partly because of the disaster that is the Biden Administration but also partly because the perception is sinking in that they have their heads so far up their identity politics asses that they can't tell up from down.
