The exception that does have to be made is the difference between Republicans and Trumpers. It is not the Republicans that fit that mold, it is the Trumpers that do.

Having said that, the Democrats are also stupid as they did not only blew it on this election but they have been going that route for years. They are not keying on what is truly important to all of us and that is the Constitution, Democracy, pro-choice, health and the environment. The gay and transgender issue is not (and should not be) at the top as those only represent 7% of the population. Yes, the rights of those are important as rights in general have to be supported by all of us. Nonetheless, it should not define the party. Democracy and the Constitution should define the party.

Putting all of this together, the fact is that this country is heading downward "overall" and using one's head and doing the intelligent thing is now the exception and not the rule. Both Trumpers and a large portion of the Democrats are guilty of that.

You are not being fair overall. There are a lot of Republicans also abandoning the Trump party. The actual problem that exists is that many people (but not enough) are abandoning idiocracy and choosing intelligence.

Having said that, the Far Right is in CONTROL of the Republican Party but the Far Left is not yet in control of the Democrat party, so the issue is worse now (than if Harris had been chosen) as now the entire country is run by an extremist.
