What kind of operating system do you have? Extremely few updates with Windows 11 but plugs in commercials.

You don't need Microsoft Word.
Libre Office is very good. Been using it for years. And it is free.
It can open any Word/Excel document perfectly. Unless you are using extensive macros in excel, you won't even notice a difference.

Point?
LIbre office brand has been around since 2011. But it is a variant of Star Office which originally started out in 1985.
It opens any Word document, and if you open it and make changes, it will save those changes as a Word document. Always able to be open by Word. Also it will open many other forms of documents that Word will not open.
