It's time for the yearly guess as to whether the rich, vibrant culture in Chicago will outdo themselves. With only hours away from their final goal, we wait breathlessly for the numbers to come in.

"Past year end totals reflected on this site account for resolved death investigations, found bodies and late passings that can and will occur for many years after the clock strikes midnight on Jan 1st. We apply those incidents towards the time of occurrence, not date of death. Other agencies, such as the CPD, choose to add those resolved death investigations, found bodies and late passings to the year in which the death was recorded.

For example, when the clock struck midnight on January 1st, 2021, the final totals for 2020 were:
Shot & Killed: 719
Shot & Wounded: 3,455
Total Shot: 4,174
Total Homicides: 792

In the nearly 365 lead-filled days since, the totals have shifted as additional homicides have been recorded:
Shot & Killed: 723 (+4)
Shot & Wounded: 3,451 (-4)
Total Shot: 4,174 (0)
Total Homicides: 797 (+5)

2016 showed a similar pattern and eventually broke the 800 barrier unlike this year which accomplished that 90s feat weeks ago. On January 1st 2017, the final totals for 2016 were:
Shot & Killed: 713
Shot & Wounded: 3,665
Total Shot: 4,378
Total Homicides: 795

Over the subsequent years, those totals have been slowly adjusted to show:
Shot & Killed: 722 (+9)
Shot & Wounded: 3,658 (-7)
Total Shot: 4,380 (+2)
Total Homicides: 808 (+13)

Wherever 2021 ends up on January 1st, it will be the most violent year so far this century with a homicide tally that rivals the 1990s and will only increase over the coming years."

When Trump takes over in 24 it will be a different story. He knows the good guys from the bad guys now. Swampers will be dumped. Fauci and Wray come to mind. There are many more. Riots like Democrats had in 20 will be met with decisive force this time. Our laws will be enforced. And then Trump will work on making our businesses and our workers more productive to reduce our dependence on China. Only Trump can do these things and if the media, the DNC and the biggest dipshit generation that ever set foot in America think differently, it will be their problem when our existing laws are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. America first.

What makes you think trump won’t get ripped off again? Democrats will not stop cheating. At this point they are like paid kidnappers or successful terrorists. They won’t stop.

You've mentioned midnight on January 1st. a couple of times. You probably mean Dec. 31st midnight.

More to the point, America is awash in gun violence in big cities where the gun density is the highest. Much safer out on the farm where the guns are about 1 or 2 to the half section of land.

Gun violence isn't a crime that needs to be addressed in the big cities. That would amount to infringement on 2nd. amendment rights. School chilldren shouldn't balk at wearing bullet proof vests and teachers should just get used to teaching from bullet proof cages.

At best, have another look at banning armour piercing ammunition from schools.

Perhaps a Darwin-Award should be awarded to the city with the highest annual murder rate.

I sure do hope so, with all the illegals coming in, someone has to replace all those dead voters..

Well, that's just a "city".
Ther are plenty of rural counties that have higher rate than some of the highest rate cities.

Anyway, to the thrust of the OP......in his frequent fretting over Chicago's south & west side shootings......he seems to be overlooking many worse case locales. Why is that? Couldn't make it big in the Windy City? Holding a grudge? Got an axe to grind?

In truth, I dunno what his motivation may be but, it is worth noting that Chicago is a ways down the list for murder 'rate'....behind:

Buffalo NY
Richmond VA
North Charleston SC
Peoria IL
Dayton OH
Birmingham AL
Baton Roughe LA
Memphis TN
.........and a bunch of others.

And then those states.
Like:

STATEHOMICIDE RATE
Mississippi20.5
Louisiana19.9
Alabama14.2
Missouri14
Arkansas13
South Carolina12.7
Tennessee11.5
Maryland11.4

If the city has any luck they will see a 100% black on black murder ratio. If that happens they have a chance at becoming a great city again, especially since the demographic that would vote Beetlejuice again will be gone.

The democrats are still in charge....so there is a good possibility they will...

You keep saying this....and it isn't true...are you stupid, or do you just pretend to be stupid when you post.

The cities with the most violence have the least gun ownership and the most gun control laws........
