not personally but I am sure he had a hand in it
The 2019 Arrest
- Who Did It: The arrest was carried out by the FBI and federal prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY).
- The Charges: He was charged with sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.
- The Context: This was a new federal case that successfully argued it was not bound by the controversial 2008 "non-prosecution agreement" Epstein had previously reached in Florida.
Trump’s Connection & Response
- The Acosta Resignation: Following the arrest, Trump’s Labor Secretary, Alexander Acosta, came under heavy fire because he was the U.S. Attorney who had overseen Epstein's lenient 2008 plea deal. Amid the backlash, Acosta resigned from the Trump administration in July 2019.
- Public Comments: After the arrest, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, "I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you," and stated they had not spoken in 15 years.
- Past Ties: Despite the distance Trump kept in 2019, the two were well-known social acquaintances in the 1990s and early 2000s in Palm Beach and New York. Trump famously told New York Magazine in 2002 that Epstein was a "terrific guy" who liked "beautiful women... on the younger side."
Recent Developments (2025–2026)
Since returning to office for his second term, the "Epstein Files" have become a major political flashpoint:
- In late 2025, Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Trump signed into law.
- This has led to the release of over 3 million documents in early 2026, though the rollout has been criticized by some for being "late and in dribs and drabs."
- Current Attorney General Pam Bondi (who replaced Merrick Garland) has faced pressure over the handling of these files, specifically regarding whether a definitive "client list" actually exists.
Digest this all you like, all speculation
You're sure? As in, you have no freaking clue, but you decided that as everything good that happens is obviously Trump and anything bad that happens is obviously someone else, well, according to this "logic"....
So, it was carried out by the FBI.
And Acosta resigned.... because he had given the easy plea and gave Epstein an easy ride the first time around. And somehow you feel that therefore as one of Trump's would get heavily criticized, it must have been Trump who arrested Epstein, when logic suggests the exact opposite.
Trump instead of saying "I got him arrested" merely distanced himself from Epstein. Didn't accuse him of anything, didn't say anything bad. I mean, this is Trump who insults EVERYONE and he didn't insult Epstein and you think Trump had him arrested?
Well, all speculation, you've provided NOTHING that even suggests Trump even knew it was happening. And what you have provided would suggest Trump didn't want the arrest to happen.
