A. To save lost sinners?
B. To seek and save that which was lost?
Which one are you?C. To judge the righteous and the wicked. 1 Corinthians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 5:10
Of course, that hasn't happened yet.
When that time comes God will send him again. But why was he sent the first time?C. To judge the righteous and the wicked. 1 Corinthians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 5:10
Of course, that hasn't happened yet.
Jesus didn't have to "seek" out sinners as they were all around him all the time. He was to seek (search, find) and save something that was formerly 'found' but had been lost. Something that was precious to God. Could it be Israel? What's the difference between the two?
You logic is all messed up dude.Jesus didn't have to "seek" out sinners as they were all around him all the time. He was to seek (search, find) and save something that was formerly 'found' but had been lost. Something that was precious to God. Could it be Israel?
Most versions accurately state "seek and save that which is lost". Others simply say "save sinners" or words to that effect. The word "seek" is the misunderstood term in that sentence. To understand it fully one must read who Jesus actually sought out during his life. You use the word seek in quote in one part, then w/o quotes in the other, but both instances are saying the same thing.
"Jesus was sent to seek and save that which was lost."Then you're interjecting Israel.
It's as plain as day to me.It doesn't get more plain and simple than that.
What about John 3:16 though? Address that. Most versions accurately state "seek and save that which is lost". Others simply say "save sinners" or words to that effect. "Jesus was sent to seek and save that which was lost."
"I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
See the connection?
It's as plain as day to me.
A general statement that encompasses the church age as well as the judgment period. There are many such all-inclusive salvation statements. Jesus came to establish his church among the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Of course, the church grew over time to include others. Israel always welcomed the stranger. The Jews not so much. What about John 3:16 though? Address that.

The unbroken continuous existence of the church of Christ is the HRCC. There is no Christian church or congregation that can trace its lineage to Christ without tracing it through the HRCC. Your lack of objectivity is astounding. While the RCC was murdering people the true church was safely hidden in the "wilderness". See Revelation 12.
