Why so much sickness? A simple answer.

The earth can't sustain the population now without serious damage. If we can increase population while preserving the earth and enjoying a quality life, no problemo. However, I don't believe we can do this. :(
Humans are just displacing other Fauna in the Life Cycle Systems.
I doubt we are at "Human Fauna Saturation Point", yet.

Thanks to bad lifestyle choices, especially diet and medications, our immune systems are in shambles

Our parents were raised in a steady diet of gravy and sugar. When they weren’t eating bacon grease as a condiment, they were being shot at by Germans.

Somehow, their immune systems stood the test.

The Earth has always rejected us. Humans have had to fight the Earth just to survive. Luckily, humans have a way of using Earth's resources in novel ways instead of relying on animal instinct.

Humans only occupy a tiny fraction of Earth's surface and comprise an infinitesimal segment of Earth's time line.
That's because earth's surface is 70 percent water. On dry land we are residents, on the oceans we are just guests.

So then what is the carrying capacity of the earth? You have to know this to make that statement and I am certain you have no idea

My parents and grandparents lived on a steady diet of 'meat and potatoes".

Overcrowding is already affecting our quality of life. More people will just make it worse. Who wants to live shoulder to shoulder and eat nothing but soyburgers.

We are already in the economic sense, and it's going to get a lot worse.

The Earth has survived many cataclysmic events and, as far as we know, there could have been many civilizations we know nothing about. IMO, the Earth will always survive but humans may not. Especially if we stay at a lower than replacement birth rate.
We are still fine in that aspect. Crisis averted. Perhaps the various systems out in the world no longer make kids affordable.

Kids used to be a family asset, especially on farms. Today they are a costly luxury, causing economic hardship for many families.

You are correct. As we preach be responsible, work work work, we should expect less and less people having kids. Cant have it both ways.

Kids used to be a family work force that everyone benefitted from, and in many ways. Those were the 'goodle' days.

Thanks to bad lifestyle choices, especially diet and medications, our immune systems are in shambles. Worse, the medical community deems illness to be 'normal'.
are you talking about antibiotics?

Antibiotic overuse as well as dumb patients not taking the full course of ABX and stopping early because they “feel better” has lead to pathogens evolving and becoming more resistant to more and more medications, resulting in “superbugs” that are difficult to treat.

If people would stop demanding ABX every time they catch a cold and would take the full course when they are ordered, we wouldn't be in this mess.

You do know that average life expectancy was significantly lower for those generations, right?
