Why is Trump publicly calling out Canada, Mexico, Greenland and Panama Canal? Didnt he campaign on confronting China? Come on Trump

Trump was voted in by Americans and even supported by many fiscally minded citizens around the globe because he represented more fiscal restraint/cost cutting a la DOGE, he was going to prevent Americas debt from going off of the cliff, return a global presence of peace through strength to defend key allies such as Taiwan and Japan, defend your border (for which Canada also pays a price as we have fentanyl coming into our country from these same cartels I'm sure) and confronting China so that America remains the Super Power of the world, millions of lives potentially saved.

Now, Mexico I can understand being called out, even the Canal and Greenland as these are key tenets of U.S security. Canada though is receiving more than our fair share of ink due to Trump. Media cares this much about Canada all of a sudden but not 100s of thousands being poisoned by your southern border? Come on maaaan.

If his actions before he takes office is any indication, he has said very little about China and tariffs, but raises the issue with Canada and Mexico and others? Didn't he suggest a 60% tariff on China? They are sending over the precursors to the poisons that have killed countless people in Canada too, that act is responsible for something like 100,000 U.S deaths a year!

Let's hope this isn't a pattern he will maintain after he takes office. Please DJT, stick to your promises. China needs to be confronted about their human right abuses and cheating on trade. All nations can do better but China is by the greatest threat to America and the biggest trade violator.

We'd all like to see peace in the world and we'd all love to see China become a true capitalist nations that supports human rights. This should be where his focus lies, no? To call them out and get them to change and if they do not, than he uses tariffs as a means to equalize the trade abuses.

DJT keep your promises. Canada isn't perfect and we could use some demands to adhere to human rights but we are your ally, for all of our warts.
My guess is that President will do all that can be done to enrich and protect the American people, enrich and protect neighboring allies of the USA with special good treatment of our dear neighbors in beautiful Canada and also our excellent neighbors in colorful Mexico. President Trump learned a lot in years past, and mark my words, we all love our Northern and Southern neighbors, not to mention our Island paradises and countries so many Americans visit on the Carribean shores with beautiful memories when vacation time is over.

I hate to break it to you but there isn't an elegant way to lose a war.

Trumpy does this shit because he thinks it makes him look strong. He's miffed right now that he didn't get his way with the spending bill and rumors that Musk is running the show.

He's doing it because he's not being bought off by China to look the other way. 80 percent of our imported goods use the canal...China has seized control of the canal Via payola to the corrupt Panamanian regime.... This needs to be fixed. And of course you're going to hear screaming from the Chinese controlled media here in the United States.

Trumpy didn't say anything about fixing the system. He says he wants the canal returned to the US

Okay, Kreskin

He’ll be on to some new BS to keep you entertained by then.
We’ll see who is happy and who is sad in less than one month

I’m looking forward to it

Not according to the treaty signed in 1977…that’s what we are talking about.

Please educate yourself on the law
How dumb are you??

That treaty in 1977 - beheld the terms of 1999. Aka Panama is a sovereign State and as such only Panama controls the canal.

The Panama Canal Treaties of 1977 specified that the U.S. transfer canal operations to Panama and terminate its military presence by December 31, 1999. Moreover, the Canal Treaties require that the locks be turned over to Panamanian authorities free of all debts and encumbrances.

The Panama Canal treaties specify that by December 31, 1999, all U.S.
military forces will be withdrawn from Panama and that all U.S.
military real and nonremovable property will be transferred without
charge to Panama. Department of State and DOD officials have stated
that the United States would fully implement all provisions of the
treaties. However, treaty implementation documents do not preclude
the United States from negotiating an agreement with Panama for the
permanent stationing of U.S. military forces in Panama after 1999.
Officials from both Departments said that if such an agreement is not
negotiated with Panama, all U.S. forces will be withdrawn as
specified by the treaties.

From 2005

The explosion of U.S. military interest and funding for Plan Colombia, occurring in the wake of the U.S. withdrawal from military bases in Panama in December 1999, has given rise to a proliferation of new U.S. bases and military access agreements in the region. The growth of these new, smaller bases constitutes a decentralization of the U.S. military presence in the region and has been Washington’s response to a reluctance by regional leaders to host large U.S. military bases or complexes.

What the U.S. Southern Command (SouthCom) calls the “theater architecture” is a complex web of U.S. military facilities and functions in the region. This interlocking structure has been in transition. U.S. military facilities represent tangible commitments to underlying policy priorities, such as ensuring access to strategic resources, especially oil, and to a supply-side drug war that holds foreigners responsible for U.S. citizens’ addiction to illegal drugs.

Now why don't you show me a treaty/agreement - that supposedly shows that after 1999 - the USA would have any rights, in regards to neutrality of Panama and thus towards the neutrality of the canal and or stationing US military in Panama.

BTW - NSA Panama City is NOT located in Panama.

No dummy, it's a ranking. 1/2 said the economy ranked higher, and 1/3 said immigration ranked higher.

Both fractions want both issues addressed, they just differ on which one they rank as the top priority.

There were other issues in the survey as well- abortion, global warming, health care, racism, etc. The "others" were just very low on the list for voters this year...
Democrats cannot walk and chew gum at the same time

So they expect MAGAs to choose one and forget the other

Only YOU got a problem - since Trumps migration rhetoric did not suffice to make him President in 2020 and neither did it in 2024. aka WINNING an election. He therefore WON the election in 2024 due to his economic promises and that his opponent was a colored woman with insufficient experience.
You still confuse WINNING an election due to garnering votes based on economic issues, with garnering votes from MAGA's, due to his immigration blah, blah. - which did not help him to win the 2024 election.

Hitler didn't win the MAJORITY of his seats in parliament due to his racial Jew quack - but simply due to the economic outlook he sold the German population in 1933 and their horror towards communism. But for hardliner NAZI's, his racial Jewish garbage was a key reason for them to vote for the Austrian nutcase.

Over and Out

2020 has nothing to do with this.
It wasn't until Biden and his border policies began in 2021, that the immigration issue went from being a somewhat important issue, to a really HUGE issue.

If you lived here, you would know that the economy is always the top issue during a presidential election. What was different this time around, is that immigration, also became ONE of the key issues as to why Trump won.

Nowhere, have I stated that immigration ALONE elected Trump. I DID say, that I will be happy, if this issue by itself is addressed properly, and we end this constant third-world flood. I realize we will never stop it, but there are certainly measures we can take to alter it significantly.

If this is all Trump accomplishes, then I'm happy, although I hope much more is also accomplished on a wide range of issues.

By the way, when you say immigration didn't even HELP Trump win, you really are clueless.

Trump's lighting them up for overcharging usage fees from what has been said.

I'd bet He's going to get them lowered by threatening to withhold US government welfare monies to Panama.

NSA Panama City is NOT located in Panama.
