Trump was voted in by Americans and even supported by many fiscally minded citizens around the globe because he represented more fiscal restraint/cost cutting a la DOGE, he was going to prevent Americas debt from going off of the cliff, return a global presence of peace through strength to defend key allies such as Taiwan and Japan, defend your border (for which Canada also pays a price as we have fentanyl coming into our country from these same cartels I'm sure) and confronting China so that America remains the Super Power of the world, millions of lives potentially saved.

Now, Mexico I can understand being called out, even the Canal and Greenland as these are key tenets of U.S security. Canada though is receiving more than our fair share of ink due to Trump. Media cares this much about Canada all of a sudden but not 100s of thousands being poisoned by your southern border? Come on maaaan.

If his actions before he takes office is any indication, he has said very little about China and tariffs, but raises the issue with Canada and Mexico and others? Didn't he suggest a 60% tariff on China? They are sending over the precursors to the poisons that have killed countless people in Canada too, that act is responsible for something like 100,000 U.S deaths a year!

Let's hope this isn't a pattern he will maintain after he takes office. Please DJT, stick to your promises. China needs to be confronted about their human right abuses and cheating on trade. All nations can do better but China is by the greatest threat to America and the biggest trade violator.

We'd all like to see peace in the world and we'd all love to see China become a true capitalist nations that supports human rights. This should be where his focus lies, no? To call them out and get them to change and if they do not, than he uses tariffs as a means to equalize the trade abuses.

DJT keep your promises. Canada isn't perfect and we could use some demands to adhere to human rights but we are your ally, for all of our warts.

Trump has not taken office yet

Lets wait and see what he actually does instead of what he is saying now

I agree in theory, however, Trump likes to set the expectations early and he signals all the time.

He is entering office during a more difficult time than his first term, far more challenges and it is incumbent upon him to prioritize. He should also call out Human Right abuses in other nations, it is currency and Goodwill that is important to Americas interests, just look at how Reagan leveraged this. He essentially inspired citizens to overcome the Russians.

Mexico and Canada are primary enablers of Red Chinese schemes to get around the tariffs, and have been for years. Red Chin is also buying in to Panama in a big way, which is why they get 'noticed'. Greenland has had a large U.S. presence since WW II, so isn't new news.

Some idiot whining about a 'secret weather station n stuff' is just dumb crap for dopers to wet their diapers over.

You may have some points, though perhaps overstated. Your stance would represent more credibility if Trump had called out China more fervishly. They are the source, right? Also, look at how they exploit Western laws to purchase.land here while Americans and Canadians cannot ever own land in China. This could pose an opportunity for Trump to begin his position.and it would REALLY force China to change the manner in which they abuse us through our own laws and charity.

This obviously isn't coming originally from Trump, and it's clear we'll be seeing a lot more crazy shit coming out over the next year.

This is imperialist philosophy, and I wouldn't be surprised if people like Stephen Miller were behind it, seeding Trump with "ideas".

Trump is in a rage over his perceived victimhood, and ripe for the picking. The Alt Rightists around him will be more than happy to oblige.

Lebensraum.

Canada is no friend either.

Canada and Mexico have both been giving us the shaft. Mexico is just the one that gets all of the press.

Our Northern border is just as bad as our Southern border. Canada is letting illegals thru in record numbers.

Imperialist philosophy?

Is putting your own country first now considered imperialism?

I swear. Sometimes you can say some the the dumbest things.

Wow. Canadas border with you isn't even remotely similar to the abuses occrring at your southern border. Our problem is domestic civil lliberty abuses and lack of accountabulity. We are still your ally, we just need to be reminded about human rignts obligations which we have promised to protect and.uphold.

It's not the people of Canada who are fault, but that c*cksucker Justin Trudeau. But this is what happens when you elect a closet communist as PM.

The sooner that POS is out of office the better.

Panama is related to the China issue

He isn't going ro win re-election most likely so the hate is misguided, often unwarranted. He is basically.operating as so many PMs before him acted so.this isn't anything new really. Harper grudgingly agreed to sell some of our key resource companies to China. This is why I say to America, "lead through human rights" as your .light and allies will get on board. Civil liberties and human rights are the core tenets that separate us from the enemy.

I think the time for being a nice guy or leading the way through kindness has come to an end.

If you Canadians keep electing these socialist creeps you're going to be in a world of shit.

You need to find yourself your own Trump and get rid of those Castro wannabes.

He’s been attacking China, him calling out Panama is attacking China

Do you actually pay attention to anything he actually says? Clearly not

Trump is a bully with a victims complex
Everyone in his eyes is taking advantage of us.

It is easier to bully our allies than Russia or China
