Why is requiring a free voter ID "voter suppression"? What's the matter, worried it might make it harder to cheat?

Then they shouldn't vote. If you can't figure out something as simple as getting an ID, you aren't mentally competent enough to vote. Besides, aren't there some liberal ninnies out there to help them obtain an ID, or is it all a virtue-signaling show?

The soy boy won't defend his stupid statement.... he'll just thumbs down and suck his thumb

Anybody remember back when Obama was the prez, and they put in a policy of sorts where basically if you needed help managing your VA pension or disability payments and were assigned a fiduciary, they could ban you from buying or owning a gun? As in confiscation. And he tried to include Social Security beneficiaries in that ban too, not sure if he succeeded. There is no simple way to identify that group, but a strategy used by the Department of Veterans Affairs since the creation of the background check system is reporting anyone who has been declared incompetent to manage pension or disability payments and assigned a fiduciary.

If Social Security, which has never participated in the background check system, uses the same standard as the VA, millions of its beneficiaries would be affected. About 4.2 million adults receive monthly benefits that are managed by “representative payees.” Well, IMHO if you ain't competent enough to own a gun then you also aren't competent enough to vote either. And that could add up to several million people, some who did vote in 2020 and may not have realized it.

If you can't pass a background check to own a gun then you shouldn't be allowed to vote either.

Democrats would be in favor of that because they could try to use it to stop older people, who vote Republican, from voting. Of course, they start voting Democrat again when they go senile and get put in a nursing home and their votes get "harvested".

Voter ID in no way suppresses the vote - that is a simple reality.

As far as voter fraud goes, voter fraud is practically nonexistent nor is singular votes what you need to worry about should voter fraud be a real problem. Fraud on the scale necessary to change elections will not be perpetrated by people showing up to the polls, it will be done by those counting or transporting the votes.

Basically, it seems to me that the democrats are against voter ID because the republicans support it and republicans support it because democrats are against it.

What voter fraud? In April 2020, a 20-year voter fraud study by MIT found the level of fraud in the United States "exceedingly rare" since it occurs only in "0.00006 percent" of instances nationally.
That silly study can only determine how often fraud gets discovered, not how often it actually happens.
Try thinking instead of regurgitating.

Tell me why requiring a free voter ID card is "voter suppression". Democrats simply want voter fraud going on because they know it benefits them.
The fact that voter ‘fraud’ is a myth also renders voter ID laws a form of voter suppression.

Voter ‘fraud’ by identity is so exceedingly rare as to be virtually non-existent – making voter ID laws unwarranted, unnecessary, and a burden on the right to vote.

Indeed. A vote in the end can prove more lethal.

It IS voter suppression, but it is voter suppression of voters whose votes SHOULD BE SUPPRESSED > namely aliens (both legal & illegal) who do not have any right to vote.

Voter suppression can be either good or bad, depending on WHOSE votes are being suppressed.

Pure LIES. This jerk knows all about the massive fraud of the 2020 election, and idiotic posts like this, aren't fooling anyone. This is just another example of leftist DISHONESTY (and at moronic level)

The thread premise is a lie.

Democrats don't want to facilitate voter fraud.

Some older voters of color lack the necessary documents to obtain a government-issued I.D., that it might be free isn't the point.
If someone lacks the documents necessary to obtain a government issued ID, how do we know if that someone is actually a citizen? That would require documentation as well.

What's the matter? Afraid of losing the popular vote in 2024 for the 8th of the last nine presidential elections.
Can you believe how absurd some of these posts are in this forum ? Reading posts like this, makes you think you must be dreaming.

Voter fraud was endemic throughout the country in 2020, and it is the biggest probem the country faces. Voter fraud experts have already ruined American democracy, and will kill it completely, unless Republicans and the US Supreme Court take massive action to stop it.

So far, both have been utter failures, consequently allowing the fraud to flourish, and a presidential election to have been STOLEN. Sad days we're living in.
