(Incidentally, I realize that many people believe that our government “lied” to us about Iraq’s possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction. But my question isn’t addressed to anything about such past issues. Instead, it focuses on this Iranian issue.)

I honestly have no idea, but I do think it's naive to believe Iran wouldn't use weapons of mass destruction if given the opportunity. They are fanatics.
