Why hasn't the U.S. had a female leader yet in its history?

Gee why didnt you vote for McCain Palin if its so important

Criticizing the historical absence of the talents of one-half of the population does not require voting for an incompetent, no-talent asshole who doesn't know when to shut her mouth and doesn't have anything intelligent to say when she opens it. Your arrogance is ridiculous. Then again, you probably voted for trump/pence, two of the most unqualified people in the country, just because they are white males.
And Hilly was the smartest woman in the world........llmmmmaaaooo

It is shocking that our leadership has been drawn from only one-half of the population. Moreover, history tells us that the performance in office of our leadership has ranged from excellent to truly sucking.
A Prog socialist woman as president will be a death knell. Most men if nothing is in it for them will eventually not listen. We see the results today of the Prog women feminist extremists. Every job of danger has a reduced amount of people who they can trust to have their back. We can not compete with other nations now at a level that was preeminent to all at one time. Every time societies become rich they screw themselves up. Without the United States, Russia could invade Western Europe and win today.

It's interesting and confusing to me that in this country's 243 years it still has not elected a female leader or even a female vice president for that matter. Right now there are 20+ nations around the world with female leaders (either prime minister or president). Nations such as Norway, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, New Zealand, Belgium, Estonia, Greece, Slovakia, Georgia, Serbia, and more. Many of these countries along with others have not only elected a female prime minister or president one time but numerous times, and a good percentage of them are a younger age, 30's and 40's, in comparison to our elected politicians which seem to average in age in the 60's and 70's. Most of these countries have been independent sovereign nations for less time than the U.S. has as well. I guess my question is bluntly, why haven't we elected a female president yet? It's not like we don't have talent here in my opinion.
We have to elect a vagina because.

why do we have to focus on anything other than electing someone vastly qualified to get the job done in todays environment?

electing a black, white, female, jew, catholic whatever - just to elect someone and balance the spreadsheet is stupid. elect the most qualified and not care about the rest. if that's a black woman, great. i'm in. if that's a young upstart jewish muslim, hell i am still going to damn sure listen.

that said, tulsi had me curious but the left decided she wasn't one of them so we didn't get to find out much more other than she's apparently a russian asset also.

The United States does not elect it's leaders like most countries. To win the Presidency, you have to have high name recognition and women are rarely in that position. Only 2 women have been in that position. Sarah Palin in 2012 and she lost her nerve. Hillary Clinton in 2016 but she was not particularly likeable.

The only qualifications to be president, according to the Constitution are to be a natural born citizen, live here 14 years and be 35 years old or older.

That's not what we consider when contemplating the candidates, but those are the only true qualifications.

Imagine if Trump had said in 2015 "I'm definitely choosing a white woman as my running mate" the left would have gone fucking APESHIT that Trump was racist.

But what does Joe Biden do? Say that he will definitely be choosing a black woman as a running mate. Left is dead silent, in fact supports his decision. Biden is openly admitting he's not choosing a candidate based on qualifications, just based on race.

Racist anyone?

I don't find it that surprising. We've only had 45 presidents, and women have only been allowed to vote for about 100 years of our country's history. Part of those hundred years could be chocked up to misogyny, and another part to chance.

I can understand that point of view however when you look at other countries with similar timelines it creates a good compare and contrast. Many countries in the world have had a very similar timeline when it comes to women's suffrage and electing women to office. Many of the countries I mentioned in my opening post for example all have a similar timelines to the U.S, some years after the US too, but a very different election history leading up until today.

Margaret Thatcher is a good example that people like to use as being an effective and memorable female leader yet full women's suffrage in the U.K. didn't begin till 1928, eight years after the U.S, and they've already had two female prime ministers since then. Finland very similar timeline as well yet there's been four female prime ministers, Norway two, New Zealand three, Iceland three, Canada one, Australia one, France one, Germany one, and so on and so on. I think that last sentence that you said is probably the most accurate reason for the absence in my opinion.

It’s the good old if it ain’t broke don’t fix it principle.

We built the greatest most dominant nation on earth in a very short amount of time by doing it OUR WAY, the way our great framers wanted it done...Contrary to Dem belief OUR WAY works...Leave it alone.

It could be argued that our system is broken in a lot of ways though in my opinion.

You forgot England, Margaret Thatcher.

Well I was listing countries that have female leaders, either president or prime minister, right now and not just in their nation's past.
Run. If the majority agree with you you'll win.

Unfortunately the women who run are kooks. They'll win in their local kook districts but their message wont carry a majority of the states

So far, I'd vote for Candice Owen's in 2024, but I bet you wouldnt.

Very good question. It does seem odd, especially in light of what you mentioned, about so many countries around the world having female leaders.

I don't know, what are your thoughts on this Grace?

I think it could be argued that there is an level of engrained male chauvinism in our culture that contributes to it. The boys club so to speak. I also think our election system and entrenched two party system doesn't allow for as much diversity of thought and platforms.

I would have voted for CO as well... But... Gabbard... She would have had a strong running for my vote. Too bad democrats don't really run their party. I don't know who does... But... Wow... Fuck'n Biden..

Because Palin was incredibly stupid?

JUST being a woman is not a prerequisite.

There have been MANY women qualified and America has so far "not been ready"

I could see Nikki Haley as a candidate. I'd probably vote against her based on policy but she is a respectable candidate.

Owens, Gabbard,Palin...are not

Texas has had two female governors.
I would like to see a female president.
But not anyone like Hillary, or Pelosi or AOC.

I would agree as well that Nikki Haley could be a real contender for the Republican Party if she were to make a serious run one day.
