Norway is a Petrol economy? I didn't know, but that would make sense. But, upon looking, they are not in the top 10 Petroleum producing countries in the world, but they are the 7th largest Natural Gas producers on the planet. Of course we produce over 6 times as much Natural Gas, and between 80 and 90 times as much petroleum.
Of course their country is only 5,623,070 compared to US 347Million+, and though we lead the world by far in Oil and Natural Gas, we are not a Petrol economy country.

Chris Lund, a citizen of Norway, offered an explanation to trump as to why most Nordic people view moving to the U.S. as a “massive downgrade.”

Lund was responding to trump’s statement in which “he had asked a meeting of Democrat lawmakers ‘why it is we only take people from s***hole countries,’ and ‘why can’t we have some people from Norway, Sweden, just a few? Let’s have a few from Denmark.’”

As a citizen of Norway, Lund described to trump a few of the differences between the society of his country and that of the United States. In forming his response to trump’s comments desiring more Norwegians Lund simply DID THE MATH, Lund said. “‘When you compare five weeks of vacation and a year of maternity leave to the American system, the offer is a joke. I’m not trying to be mean. I’m just looking at the benefits package.’”

Norway, Sweden, Denmark and others provide generous maternity leave, free healthcare, and other needed benefits. (Google the government benefits in nations described by trump as non-s***hole countries.)

As a final point regarding trump’s comments, Lund added, “that it was ‘funny’ that the president wants more people from Norway to move to the U.S., and he ‘should probably be careful what he wishes for.’”

“‘If we actually moved to the U.S. and started voting, we most certainly wouldn’t be voting for him. We’d be voting for the very things he calls ‘socialism,’ Lund said.”

So the OP can compare the richest European countries (the Nordic ones) to the entire USA, rich states and poor states, but if I compare the entire USA to the entirety of Europe, that's an apples and oranges comparison?

Here's your goalposts. The people in the richest US states have a far higher per capita PPP than the people in the richest European countries. There's where the goalposts should be!

I know several people from the Laplands that have immigrated here. I have a great deal of respect for their countries.

But in these cases, these people saw what they could get in terms of housing and land and other goodies and said, I'm outa here.
