The crime of extortion doesn't depend on whether or not the story of Trump's alleged affair with Daniels is true or false. Its still a crime to shake someone down over it in either case.

Ms. Daniels could have gone to the media and immediately sold the story , and regardless of whether it was true or false, it would not be blackmail. It might be libel, but it would not be blackmail. The blackmail was in requesting money from Mr. Trump's representatives.

Post 9-11 domestic surveillance is an issue, but I don't see the nexus between it and Russia in the 16 election. Nor do I see that Trump ever saw it as an issue.

First of all, it is not clear at all that any of the accusations against those Russian citizens have any merit whatsoever, because the FBI refuses to release any sort of compelling evidence against the accused. Furthermore, they are not accused of interfering with our election, as you claim. That makes you a lying piece of shit right in the first sentence of your post. Those Russians are merely accused of attempting to interfere with the elections. Nothing in the indictment indicates that they were in any way successful. Furthermore, Trump has not denied that they did in fact attempt to interfere with the US elections. I thought this. When I came to the American forums a few years ago, I was very depressed at how mindlessly the average American on the Internet believes the media. Especially it was sad in those cases when the media wrote, for example, an obvious lie about Russia, easily visible from Russia itself. But it is impossible to refute this when referring to an American when he believes that the media always speaks only the truth, and the one who says the other is always the Russian Putin troll

Now I see that the blind trust in the media in the US has been undermined by many. And people start to think with their own heads.
