First off, this thread is in “politics” because the opposing POV thread is also in “Politics.” That one was never officially flagged as an unclean start troll thread. It is, of course, but if it isn’t flagged, then this one shouldn’t be, either.

The topic itself is just a few thoughts about how illegitimate the NYC felony case was.

Aside from the fact that, at most, the claims made against Trump amounted to mere misdemeanors. But misdemeanors were already time barred. So in order to “get” Trump, the partisan hack NYC DA in New York County cobbled together a bizarre theory of the case to “elevate” the time l-barred misdemeanors to “felonies.”

And he refused to give a straight answer to the pertinent question about what the “other crime” was. Indeed, it’s not even clear, given the way the jury got charged on that issue, that the verdict reflects a unanimous verdict.

Also, the persecution was allowed to introduce “evidence” about Presidential actions or statements which the SCOTUS decision arguably forbids.

This doesn’t even touch upon the refusal of that weird judge to recuse himself.

The whole thing was a sham.

They upgraded misdemeanors to “felonies” under the premise it was to cover up some other crime.

Yet this other “crime” was never even named by the prosecution much less charged or proven in the court of law.

The judge even instructed the jury to just make up any crime they wanted that was being “covered up”, they didn’t even have to agree on want this imagined crime was.

There is no way that should hold up in any real court.

Why does Trump's cult have such a hard time respecting the law?

He's a convicted felon unless and until an appeal succeeds. The judicial system also determined that he is a sexual abuser and a business fraud.

Multiple appeals, audits, investigations, and recounts comfirmed the certified result of the 2020 presidential election, yet the loser and his lickspittles still can't handle the democratic process.
