Why do liberals hate Christianity ?

The main reason the far left hates religion as their money is something the far left can not grab at will.

Advanced life in the universe must be getting a good chuckle.

they rarely say anything bad about Islam, they will even label someone who does as hateful, racist, or intolerant, but when it comes to Christianity a lot of liberals do not hesitate to tout the so called evils of the Christian faith ....Why ??

I don't hate Christianity. I hate you.

I think it's because Islam is a statist religion. It require Sharia law and we see the effects of this with societies in the Middle East being run by various religious leaders. Although those on the left may not adhere to the religion, they respect and admire the fascism Islam brings to society via the iron will of the religious leaders.

Christianity learned its lesson with theocracies. Men kill and oppress in the name of God. It breeds inquisitions, crusades, and any other evil under the sun. This is an approach Jesus never advocated.

What really pisses off liberals is that Jesus was apolitical. He did not seek or advocate attaining political power and then bashing people over the head with his beliefs. Instead, he called for people to follow him individually instead of continuing to seek other things or people. Through Christ men can be set free from "sin" and have freedom on an individual basis.

But instead, the liberal thinks that legislating morality is the way to go. People must be made to "behave" through such things as laws, regulations, and political correctness. People must be taught not to sin by doing such things as being forced to recycle, conserve energy, lower their carbon emissions, be politically correct, and other such nonsense.

In the mind of a left winger, the state will provide us with our collective salvation. For those on the left, salvation could never be on an individual level. This contradicts their worldview.

You may or may not have noticed that I have not tried to prostletize in my posts. Though it is a mandate in my faith to spread the word of the resurrection and life that is Jesus Christ, I happen to think that the spiritual awakening and subsequent journey is one best left to the individual. I cannot prove the existence of God. Proof of God is faith, not an equation or a forensic investigation or an anthropological exploration. Proof of God is spirituality itself.

I have respected you opinions and I respect your outlook on God. I wonder why then your atheistic zeal leads you to conclude that those of us with faith must be intellectually inferior to you and those like you who have no faith?

Can you honestly conclude that the presence of faith in an individual must also mean a lack of intellect? Of curiosity about the natural world, a willing suspension of disbelief of science and truth? Could you understand that those of us holding faith in God find such an attitude condescending?

The great Christian scholars and philosophers are and were not people of shallow minds and blind outlooks. There must be some philosophy you subscribe to other than cold, rational thought. There is a place for cold and rational thought, that is true. But I seek some meaning in life beyond that. I seek to be laid down in green pastures. To have a table prepared before my enemies. To have my soul restored. These are qualities and comforts no cold rational thoughts could ever provide.

I'm a Liberal and a Christian. I accept science, but science cannot soothe my soul. In the Catholic faith, services conclude by congregants shaking hands and wishing peace be with you. Allow me to hold my faith, and peace be with you as well.

There are no Islamic conservatives here arguing that the government must be filtered through the Koran. If there were I would tell them the same thing I tell the Christians, shove those theocratic urges to rule my mind up your holier-than-thou hypocrite ass.

Spirituality exists because it is measurable. The same trance like states can be measured in animals too. The sense of awe and wonder that is spirituality is one of our senses. I feel it strongest when I am surrounded by nature. The mountains, trees and large bodies of water all provide me with a spiritual experience.

So I call myself a spiritual atheist. Someone who appreciates the spirituality that others find in their religion and their faith. To me anyone who shares a sense of spirituality and a connection with others must be at peace within themselves.

As to those who believe in a deity that is their right and I am willing to die fighting for their right to their beliefs. But their beliefs are private and play no part in my life. Just as I respect the rights of others to believe I expect them to respect my right to know and understand the universe as something that has always existed and always will exist and therefore does not need a "creator".

So yes, I do allow you to hold your faith and be at peace.

I think one of the reasons liberals hate Christianity is that one of the liberal main objectives is the freedom and material uplifting of the masses. Christianity is designed to uplift certain groups at the expense of other groups. It places a low value on the lives and dignity of human beings. The entire story centers about the evils of men and its philosophy is intended to make people feel unequal and ashamed of their basic human nature. We are told that we are sinful and incapable of attaining a level of standard existence. Existence defined by Christianity. So far the philosophy has kept the mass of humanity fractious and without general enlightened ways to live and think.

You have to figure, any being that designed a habitat and wanted us to live there naked and ignorant is not on our side. In the Garden of Eden there was no human potential. There we had achieved the apex of possibilities. There were none.

Additionally many of the defined tenets and doctrines are without actual meaning. Sin for example is defined as a transgression of divine law. This a definition without meaning. As there is no Divine being there cannot be divine law and therefore sin is non-existent. There is no such thing as sin. It's as empty of meaning as living a "Christian Life". As a group Christians are without the inclination to live as they say they believe. They give lip service only to their beliefs while doing some of the most horrendous things. They engage in what is defined as immoral acts. They think this is something from God and know in their hearts they shouldn't but do anyway. What is defined as immoral is not conforming to the standards of morality. However morality is both transitory and different in different societies. It is society that defines what is moral and what is not. Not God. Moral is concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior, the goodness or badness of human character. By definition Christianity is not a moral philosophy. It as a group of humans consistently enacts policies contrary to the benefit of the other groups.

Yes. If liberals do hate Christianity, and I think that word may be overstating the feeling, it's due to many of the reasons I've stated and more. I personally dislike Christianity because it states as an absolute certainly the divine and unquestionable nature of existence. The whole story is chock full of outright fabrications and contradictions. It makes no sense. It is not logical or consistent. It's a philosophy designed and written by human beings with the intent of bending and controlling people.

As a race we will never reach our maturity as long as we embrace religious philosophy. God is not going to save us. We must get together and start driving the bus. The world is careening down the mountain with each passenger vying for the steering wheel. Thank you for maintaining the overall confusion Christianity. Jesus is not the savior of humanity but it's bane.

Pretty simple really. Liberals want the government to be the God. Just look at Communist countries. You can't speak of God because it is competition to the government.

I love it when liberals say that Christians believe is sky fairies and yet can provide zero logical evidence as to how we got someting from nothing and then believe this something created from nothing exploded and just happened to create the intricate universe we all know by pure chance.(no mechanisms would exists without intelligent intervention) There is a better chance of me cutting down all the trees in my back yard, in random order, and hoping they all fall in such a way to create a nice new home, complete with heat and AC and a nice pool out back. That nonsense is infinetely more likely than the theories put forth by scientists with regards to the origins of the universe.

The rejection of religion by the left is also an excuse to be immoral. Restricitions on their llifestyles are very inconvenient. They are children who reject authority and the idea of God is the ulitmate...one they can't escape.

No. Science can't explain everything. Yet. It is too new. Too many discoveries yet to be made. But since we don't have real answers let's make up a story that is acceptable to the masses of unlearned and superstitious people. One they can't make real objection too.

The real question is...why do so many bigoted right wingers LIE about liberals?

They have no sense of what moral really means

You are making an assumption that science will prove there is no God. Dangerous and very presumptious given the lack of things we know. Good luck with that.

I am not assuming science will prove there is no God. There is nothing to prove. But I do think science will eventually have answers that will just make the belief in God a silly thing we used to think.
