Why can't the US follow Montana's example

What a complete idiot YOU are. You're absolutely rabid in your indoctrination and brainwashing.

The goal of Democrats in Washington, is to run the nation effectively and efficiently, in order for the American people and the economy to succeed.
they sure stuck a flag in your ass....neither party has done that for at least 30 years...

Democrats have TRIED, but Republicans are dead set against giving money to working Americans. They claim that working Americans have to be kept broke and desperate in order to force them to work. Government benefits are a "disincentive" to working.

The USA is the only first world nation which uses "earned income credits" as a subsidy to substandard wages. The only nation in the first world with no universal health care, no mandated vacations, or maternity leave, and the only nation with a "charter school system" destroying the public education system.

In nations with cradle to grave social programs, workers are MORE productive than American workers. People who have free education, guaranteed incomes, universal health care, and cradle to grave social programs are happier, healthier, and living longer than Americans.

The USA used to TOP the world's best places to live lists. 45 years of Republican tax and labour codes, and now you can't even make the top 10 and you're in danger of falling out of the top 20.

Sure, things happen, but it takes some willpower to live within one's means.
Montana is not doing that. They are mooching off the federal government worse (or better) than any other state.

I think both parties believe in a cheap labor force. The only way around it is to deny businesses that labor force and let them decrease about how lazy people are.

The US economy has always been dependent on a cheap/free labour force. Initially it was the slaves. Then there were the "guest" workers from China and Mexico. The benefit of these programs is that the could deport the "guests" once the labour shortage had been addressed.

Today, it's illegal immigrants. Republicans keep hiring illegals, while telling YOU they're "stealing American jobs". Are these immigrants holding guns to the employers' heads? This is the same line that the plantation owners used on their indentured servants and share croppers: "Slaves are stealing your jobs".

This is the same lie Republicans are using today. They fear working people of all races will unite and start passing laws which benefit workers instead of rich people. When the wealthy manufacturers starting sending low end manufacturing jobs to Asia, they blamed unions and environmental regulations. Their prices didn't go down to reflect their cost savings, but their profits sure went up.

The oligarchs have always feared poor black people and poor white people from joining forces and voting in the kind of democratic programs which benefit ALL of the people, not just the investor classes.

Just look at other first world democracies where the investor class doesn't control the government. Canada, Switzerland, Norway, New Zealand, Iceland, Sweden. Australia - all of the countries with governments who work FOR the people. Governments which spend their tax dollars ON THE TAXPAYERS, not the military industrial complex, or Big Medicine, or Big Insurance.

These countries have better education systems, better health care systems, and happier and more stable populations.

Pathetic.

how do you explain how the quality of life has gone down in California, for many over the last 30/40 years?...

Since you're not planning on being the world's policeman, you could cut your military spending in half. Close all your bases around the world, and bring the troops home.
Military spending is 75% defensive....
And it was Trump who wants to close our bases... so are you voting for Trump now?...

Sure, things happen, but it takes some willpower to live within one's means.

You misunderstand the purpose of government. The purpose of government isn't to operate "like a business". The purpose of government is to fill in the gaps between what the private sector cannot do profitably and/or do well, and which will benefit the general public.

Like running schools, or building utilities for ALL of the people. There are large parts of poorer states without access to clean water or electricity. Republicans continue to think that the free market does everything better. It doesn't and this belief is just as foolish as their belief that government does NOTHING well, or efficiently.

Get some freaking perspective. New York City and probably L.A. and San Francisco each deal with more illegal criminal aliens than the entire population of the state of Montana.

Yes, that would definetly reduce spending.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Fox News is a cesspool of manufactured bullshit.

Here's what they posted right under the headline:

More work remains to fight back against the affordability crisis that Biden and Harris have created

Its just like I have been saying. Trumptards are dead silent about Trump's $8 trillion of debt.

And this is why I didn't read another word of their propaganda.

If you operate like a business train citizens how to fill in the gaps and be productive members of society. CNA school I hear is easy. Construction and plumbers make 100k a year. Back in the 90's Trash folks made 16 an hour and now they sometimes don't even have to get out of the truck.

No Congress created 9 trillion of debt when they refused to vote on his budget and created one of his own.
Otherwise what is incorrect in the link?

Our "leaders" (ha) in DC -- and this goes for both parties -- work within a system that incentivizes and rewards their very worst impulses. BOTH parties.

We're not interested enough in changing the system in which they operate, we don't care enough to hold them accountable, so we deserve what we get.
The system cannot change until the attitudes of the people who elect those we put into the system changes. The government is a reflection of us. They represent us.
Both parties are not the probem. For example, we have people from one party trying to reward a convicted felon with a job in the higest position in our country. Not both sides.

I am not Einstein, but the people we elect work for us. This is my understanding of how the system is supposed to work. Ask yourself this question: If you were hiring a person for a job and you interviewed a candidate who told you that your company is useless, the less your company got in the way, the better, would you hire that person? I wouldn’t, but that is what many American voters did from 1995 through 2007, from 2011 to 2019 and in 2022. People continue electing representatves who believe that government has no role and then wonder why Washington doesn’t work. And that majority came from one side, not both. Republicans. I'm not saying Democrats are perfect, but they aren't the ones telling America how government is no good and the less government we have the better.

You tighten the belt live within budget pay down the deficit you decrease the pressure on inflation and help people be able to spread out their money further on the things they individually value and need instead of being given what the government thinks they need at inflated rates.

Then Everyone has better value for their dollar rich and poor alike. We become a better destination for tourist and businesses to operate in both of which brings jobs for everyone. And as long as we have a closed border with gates to control who gets in and in what quantities, keeping out those we don't want so we don't have to go through the danger and cost of deporting them years later, we can insure wages stay up, relative to cost, and social services doesn't get overwhelmed. Yes we would still need social services but those who can work should bee made to work or sent out into the wild country in our flyover states so they can learn how to live on their own without jobs.

Because Americans don't give a flying fuck about living within their means.

It's a lie Americans tell themselves.

Government is a business. A not for profit service business. People are trained in government. They are better trained that most people in the provate sector.

True. Because if we did, credit cards would not exist.
