Why Are We Letting Government Steal Our Rights?

There are costs to everything in life... elect a corrupt tyrannical fool like Biden or Obama and the clean up from that is expensive in dollars and our "rights"....
Look at the crime problem caused by especially Biden from his open borders... it has to be fixed... the first responsibility of government is to defend and protect the people... at any cost... so stop voting for power mad democrats.... who will do anything to stay in control...
There are people who spend 50% of their lives trying to clean up the messes they've made and there are people who spend 10% of their lives preventing those messes from happening.

But if we look deeper, they share the same dangerous principle: the government punishing people for their beliefs, speech, or conscience.

They can only fire you if you're an employee.

If you're not an employee, there's not a damn thing they can do.

This is no erosion of rights. Everyone knows there are consequences for criticizing your boss in public.

Let me state it a different way - I'm the President's boss, I pay his salary. If he criticizes me in public (like, calls me a deplorable or a traitor), I fire his ass, I vote him out of office.

It has nothing to do with rights, it's just the way the world works.

I just spent 2 hours removing 'stickups' from the walls of an apartment I'm cleaning. The tenant will pay dearly for my time. The adhesives on the stickups on the shower tiles were so strong that I had to use hammer and chisel to remove them. They are also going to pay dearly for refrigerator parts that were broken.

And why people steal ice cube trays is an enduring mystery to me. Eight out of ten apartments are missing ice cube trays when tenants move out.

Someone explain, why we are allowing this?
Not all of us believe in Rights the same way you apparently do. I, for one, believe in Privileges, afforded to those citizens who prove their ability to live proper lives within the boundaries set up by society and the Government.

I knew a guy that owned 24 Houses that he rented out. No Duplexes, no 4-plexes. Houses only. He'd bought them over a period of decades, one at a time.

He told me he never had a problem. I asked him how the HELL could that be. I know renters, I know what they're like. I knew another landlord that found that his renters would make eggs and when they broke the shells, they just threw them behind the stove. So I understand where you're coming from.

The guy that never had a problem? He said that he was very, VERY picky about who he rented to and when something broke, which it often did (he wasn't exactly renting in Port Royal) he would fix it promptly and with a quality part. Like when a refrigerator took a dump, he'd replace it with a High-Middle-End fridge.

And he'd always find an excuse to visit the renters every couple months or when a A/C Mech went out there, he'd get his report on the condition of the property. He only had to evict a couple of people, he said, out of hundreds he'd rented to.

But he was the exception, not the rule. You don't have to tell me about Renters. Being a Landlord sucks. It's work, hard work. And people is -- Well, people.

Bourbon helps. It doesn't solve anything but it makes you not care as much

In recent years, we’ve seen two very different controversies:
  • COVID-19 vaccine mandates, where many people were fired or sidelined for refusing to comply.
  • FEMA and EPA dissent letters, where employees have been put on leave for criticizing agency decisions.
At first glance these issues look unrelated, and the political parties have lined up on opposite sides. Democrats often defended vaccine mandates. Republicans today often defend firings of dissenting federal employees.

But if we look deeper, they share the same dangerous principle: the government punishing people for their beliefs, speech, or conscience.

Civil rights aren’t supposed to depend on which party is in power. The First Amendment guarantees free speech and the right to petition the government. Title VII and the Constitution protect religious freedom and equal treatment. When we start making exceptions because “our side” has a good reason, we erode those protections for everyone.

History shows us what happens when governments use job security to control speech — from the McCarthy era to civil rights struggles. Each time, people thought they were protecting the nation from danger. Each time, the real danger was silencing dissent.

Wrong is wrong, no matter the justification.
  • Firing someone over their private health choice was wrong.
  • Sidelining someone for warning about disaster preparedness is wrong.
We don’t protect rights for the moments when it’s easy. We protect them for the moments when it’s hard — when someone says or does something unpopular. If we fail at that, then no one’s rights are safe the next time the political winds shift.

Let’s not let partisanship blind us to this truth: both vaccine firings and FEMA firings threaten the same freedoms. Civil rights are for all Americans, not just when it’s politically convenient.

Someone explain, why we are allowing this?
Link to people fired for vaccines please? I'll be waiting a long time.

Both sides, not just Trump have tried to erode our rights, Republicans and Democrats and when we justify one and not the other, it makes it easier to erode all of our rights.
People like you are why we have people like Biden.

It is NOT both sides. The 2nd greatest Evil America has ever, and WILL ever face is the dimocrap scum party. You are the greatest evil of them all. You are The Deceiver. The Equivocator. The one that tells Patriots to Stay Home because, afterall, both sides are the same, amirite? You said so in the first two words of your despicable post.

And ***** like you want to come up with some kind of gutless equivocation? A ******* bandwagon fallacy?

I despise your beliefs much, MUCH more than I do dimocrap scum, unfortunately. At least dimocrap scum don't pretend to be my friend.

Piss off, dimocrap scum in disguise

FEMA employees voiced their concerns in cutting back funding and employees and believed there was a public risk, that fall under the Supreme Court rulings. If they were bitching to be bitching, then their being put on leave is justified.

This post is about government and civil rights and you can't stay on topic. Trump is president ya fool.
When you come to power again. Remove the Patriot Act and Homeland Security. Remove crimes from all of the criminal codes. You do not do that.

First off, vaccines mandates aren't just for "your own good", they are for the good of everyone living in your community. Not to mention vaccine mandates wipes out smallpox, measles, mumps, and a whole host of other childhood illnesses in just one generation.

When I was a child, I wasn't allowed to go to a public swimming pool until I was vaccinated for polio. That was the prevailing belief of where it spread. I had a whole list of diseases I feared getting because even if I lived, I'd be left with lifelong disabilities. When my children were growing up, I had no fear that they'd get ANY of these things, because they no longer existed.

Today, we're seeing a resurgence of all of these childhood diseases and deaths, because of vaccine hesitancy. Fear of vaccines is wiping out 50 years of progress in childhood diseases. And it's not even science based. It's idiots like JFK Jr. who are planting seeds of fear in people that the vaccines aren't safe.

The USA continues to have extremely high rates of covid illness and death, because you're the only first world nation which resisted getting vaccines. The rest of the first world doesn't have this problem.

Dumbest post on record. According to MAGA, you either favour martial law, or you favour total anarchy. It's one or the other.

MAGA Morons aren't bright enough to comprehend that there are hundreds of ways to deal with crime than authoritarianism, and brutal political oppression.

Weren’t you one of those wanting people who refused the vax to be placed in concentration camps?

Vaccines are dangerous. If you don’t know this by now, you’re not informed. You’re a dupe of big pharma.

No doubt you love this *****…

Bullshit. You're believing the liars.

The MNRA vaccines are the safest, most effective vaccines I've ever seen. I don't know of ANYONE who got sick from them. Our country was 80% vaccinated by September and we re-opened nearly a YEAR before you did, and even then you've failed to control or end the covid deaths in the USA.

MORE people are still dying of covid in the USA than anywhere in the first world, and you're still promoting the lies being put out by Russia, China and Iran to frighten you into thinking the government is trying to control you.

This is lunacy on the hoof.

Do you want me imprisoned for refusing the vax?

...children are still taught today that whatever ails them might be do to the fact that they are really the opposite gender in the wrong body in pretty much every public school in America...
That’s not true. Stop inhaling nonsense you find on the internet.
