Why are Trumps EO's acceptable?

EO's are the realm of the lazy.
Would you care to explain how you came to that conclusion?

Like him or not when Reagan wanted something done he took his argument to the people. He would explain what he wanted and he would fight to get it done through legislation. Some times he had to compromise but he did what he could. It took an effort.

Obama and Trump were/are too divisive and lazy to do that.

You are completely full of shit.

For example: Trump had a mandate from the American people to build the new security walls on the southern border. He relentlessly badgered congress to fund the project. Only after all other means were exhausted did he use an EO due to vital national security interests is an emergency to quell the invasion of the USA by hordes of foreign enemies.

He did not want to use an EO to get the job done for us Americans, he didn't do that until he had no other choice.

Pknopp, you're not merely full of shit, you are overflowing with shit.

He never once explained how he would pay for it. All the same what has an EO done? Absolutely nothing. 3.5 years and you have 3.5 miles of new wall. My argument was two part. Divisive and lazy. You don't get people to work with you by calling them names. Divisive.

If the people had gave Trump the mandate he wouldn't have lost the House.

He wasn’t lazy. He fought tooth and nail. The Dems refuse.

I can't read the Post. Besides I addressed your point.

EO's have become necessary BECAUSE the House and Senate have become corrupt, rigged, with power concentrated into the hands of a few denying the people their representation. KABOOM!

The ONLY two powers ANY president should have via the PEN in my opinion are....

Veto powers (need line item veto powers as well)

Signing legislation that arrives via THE PROPER CHANNELS

EO's were bad under Obama and it's no different under Trump. BE CONSISTENT

Because "it's different when we do it".

People don't maintain consistent principles or morals. They just wanna get one over on the other guy. That's what politics is all about for most of them.

Convince the country and you win the House and Senate.

Which of Trump's EO's do you feel is an overreach?

Not all EO's are created - they can be a useful, legitimate tool. While I agree that they weren't meant as a replacement for legislation they are only effective until the next president is elected. This is what made the recent SC decision over Obama's DACA EO so puzzling. Obama had two years of total control in which he could have gotten DACA passed into law - and didn't even try. Another of Obama's was EO 13547 which essentially bypasses Congress in an attempt to unofficially ratify the UN's 'Law of the Sea Treaty' (LOST) something no Congress has been willing to do since it's inception in the mid-90's. That's just one of several that were biggies - many are just simple things like naming buildings, bridges, etc. I haven't followed the results or if it still stands.

Just for kicks and giggles - FDR holds the record with a whopping 3728. Below a few of the recent presidents #'s.

Separation of powers for one and for two most all of Trump's EOs was cancelling out Obama's EOs

Ahh the old two wrongs make a right line. Good one! ;)
How is canceling out assnine EOs a wrong?

So now you're going with 'ends justify the means'?

EOs are an abuse of power. They aren't meant to be an alternative to legislation, and that's how Presidents have been using them.
