If Nancy committed insider trading fraud or her husband did, it is still a crime.

Members of Congress and their staff are not exempt from the insider trading prohibitions of federal securities laws.

I have had jobs where I had inside knowledge of financial data in Public corporations and I had to sign an agreement to NOT BUY OR SELL ANY STOCK IN THAT COMPANY UNTIL THE DATA WAS PUBLIC. IT INCLUDED FAMILY.

And a lot of that "family" is just to intimidate you....they can't prove anything with family members buying or selling stock. (Siblings, parents, adult children, Aunts and Uncles)....nevermind the hype or threats.
Press release timings are what is watched. And if you have true inside information the press releases are extremely old news anyway. Meaning....you won't ever get busted unless you buy or sell at the time of press releases.

But yes, I agree that Congress should have their portfolios placed into a blind trust that should hold nothing but the S&P 500 or the Russell 2,000. Maybe a blend of both.

Thats it....no games, no ups, no whammies.
But they ARE the ones making the laws....writing out the budgets including their own salaries.

They are currently prosecuting a military servicemember for insider trading on polymarket for when the bombs would fall in Iran. And they are mad because he knew and they didn't. Pure and simple. He only made a couple hundred thousand on the deal. (He didn't have much to bet with to begin with)

Thank you Senator Josh Hawley for introducing such an ethical piece of legislation. It's wholly unethical for law makers and other politicians to profit off of their status and insider knowledge. That's NOT what "serving the public" should look like.

Why on earth would Trump be opposed to good, America First legislation unless he thought it would affect his bottom line? Why does he consider ethics to be such a bad thing?
