I was serving Mass in "communal worship" before Age 10. Irish Catholic, you know. I last served at Age 21, so please spare your ignorant lecture about daring to show up for communal worship. I do not condemn it, and I recognize that there is some sort of power in such worship. There is no doubt one can meet God anywhere...closet, mountains, beaches, deserts, forests. This is God calling us to prayer. Yet, throughout the Bible God's command is also for our collective worship. It is not one or the other, it is both.
Seriously, are you afraid you will be manipulated should you dare show up for communal worship? Perhaps instead think of why people are gathering--to worship God, not tend to our own insecurities and paranoia(s).
It's just not for me. Are you able to comprehend that? I strongly support the First Amendment. Those wanting to go for communal worship have every right to do it. I have the right to take a pass. Is that OK with you?
