Zone1 Why are there so many Old Testament Christians?

There is no doubt one can meet God anywhere...closet, mountains, beaches, deserts, forests. This is God calling us to prayer. Yet, throughout the Bible God's command is also for our collective worship. It is not one or the other, it is both.

Seriously, are you afraid you will be manipulated should you dare show up for communal worship? Perhaps instead think of why people are gathering--to worship God, not tend to our own insecurities and paranoia(s).
I was serving Mass in "communal worship" before Age 10. Irish Catholic, you know. I last served at Age 21, so please spare your ignorant lecture about daring to show up for communal worship. I do not condemn it, and I recognize that there is some sort of power in such worship.

It's just not for me. Are you able to comprehend that? I strongly support the First Amendment. Those wanting to go for communal worship have every right to do it. I have the right to take a pass. Is that OK with you?

And we 'Semites' having been killing each other for millennia.
Humans have been killing each other for millennia, yes. It's part of the human condition.

That's why we institute a notion known as "rule of law". Not to stop people from killing each other, because it won't, but to allow a civilized society to punish transgressors.

What we humans have devolved to is what we see in so many western countries, states like the US and Israel (and others) can openly conduct genocide with no responsibility.

Why are there so many Old Testament Christians?

Imperialists prefer an authoritarian god. Such a god gives examples and reasons to hate and despise, which is important in order to assuage American guilt whilst oppressing in an otherwise unChristian manner.

Eventually all will be judged.

Aren't Palestinians Semites? Aren't the Ashkenazi Jews non-semites? When the Zionists kill off the Palestinians, isn't that the ultimate act of being anti-semitic?
NO Ashkenazi jews are semites. The term semite refers to language----arabic is a semitic language as is Habrew, Ladino and yiddish. The term "antisemitic" refers to hatred of jews only---not hatred of arabs or any other group. Chaldeans are also semites but the term 'antisemite' does not refer to them------muslim arabs hate them because they are christians. Iranian muslims are not semites----their language is not a semitic one----arabs hate them ---partially because they are shiites. You are the ULTIMATE antisemite

Apparently it's not okay with you as it seems I hit a nerve I had no intention of hitting. I was merely pointing out scripture calls us to individual prayer and also to communal worship.

It wasn't his letter. He may or may not have known he was a signatory to it. Or even what was in it. You don't ethically judge a man by a single statement or document but you judge him by the sum of his statements, actions, writings.

You don't ethically judge a man by a single statement or document ...

during a world war ...

Einstein had written to inform Roosevelt that recent research on fission chain reactions utilizing uranium made it probable that large amounts of power could be produced by a chain reaction and that, by harnessing this power, the construction of "extremely powerful bombs" was conceivable.

might have left that one in the hamper.

But it was true. And he knew Germany was working on it.

they were theoretically capable ...

Below are photographs of both pages of the letter written by Albert Einstein, with the help of Leo Szilard, to President Franklin Roosevelt on August 2, 1939 ...

dec. 8th 1941 - u s ww II beginning date ... einsteins letter written 2 1/2 years before the war began for the u s.

not everyone was as gunhoe as einstein for the a-bomb.

You are in denial of inconvenient facts FF, and dishonest posting as a result. Because of that you are unaware that he made similar statements in other places besides that LTE.

Scripture? Your faith is the opposite of reason. Faith in the magic books of organized religions is a large part of the reason I left organized religion.

So many different opinions and assertions Rosie. I strongly support the First Amendment, but sometimes all I can do is laugh at those who believe assertions that cannot be proved.

"Anti semitism" is only a term of propaganda.

You might recall that Catholicism calls for faith based on reason.
