Zone1 Why are there so many Old Testament Christians?

You are in denial of inconvenient facts FF, and dishonest posting as a result. Because of that you are unaware that he made similar statements in other places besides that LTE.

I often wonder how people become so terribly prejudiced against religion or this or that religious group or this or that person so that they are incapable of seeing anything other than what they want to see. And once they start attacking those participating in the discussion, I know they are not going to be honest themselves about much of anything. But do have a wonderful day.

You can stop wondering and ask.

But that's not what's on your mind. You're just trying to draw attention to organized religions because you're questioning your faith. All Christians must ask questions about their faith when they learn that the Catholic church has signed on to Darwinian evolution and especially to replace 'creation' in the Genesis stories.

Christians like yourself dare not let Genesis go from their faith based beliefs.

What in heck prompted that? I have not at any time in this thread (or anywhere else I can think of promoted any particular organized religion. And I would dare you don't have a clue what I think about Genesis or Darwin for that matter.

How can I take you seriously when you so dishonestly misrepresent what I have posted here and elsewhere over the years?

You were defending organized religions and asking questions that I think I can answer.

I don't know anything about what else you've posted. I based my comments on what you've said in that one post.
It's entirely up to you whether you take me seriously. Do you really want to know why so many are becoming prejudiced against religions?

I think that the Catholic church has admitted that 'creation' is a lie and many of the faithful can't reconcile that with their faith.

You'll have to quote the exact quotes in full context that you are characterizing here before I can take you seriously in any way.

What's your reason for trying to dictate how I present the facts?

The Catholic church permits it's faithful flock to believe Darwinian evolution. Read it for yourself. I don't believe that both 'creation' myth and evolution can be believed together at the same time. The Catholic church does. Read their catechism on the question.

They're trying to come to terms with science and that has resulted in an entire new system of beliefs, in which evolution is accepted as truth as long as the god created everything.

If you don't care for the way I've stated it, present your own version. That's why I'm prejudiced against religions, organized or not. And I believe it's a good reason why religions are losing their flocks.

Again I have absolutely no clue why you're attacking me as I have not discussed any of that in this thread. And I generally call out everybody--especially the more mean spirited--who accuse me of saying/supporting/condoning or whatever this or that but refuse to point to where I did such. Such people are generally lying through their teeth and/or are seriously dishonest.

Have a nice day.

Not at all.
Faith isn't always the opposite of reason, but it sometimes is the opposite.

Faith causes some Christians to believe that their bible is 'literally true', while enlightened Christians now understand that it' partly allegory. That is an instance in which 'faith' and 'reason' are opposites.

I'm attacking the beliefs that you are presenting, but if that's interpreted by you as a personal attack against you then I won't try to convince you otherwise.

To the topic in which you've chosen to comment The subject we're trying to begin to discuss is directly to the topic, in that the NT is contradictory with the C.C. acceptance of evolution.

Religious beliefs are a losing battle and it causes the faithful to tie their own hands behind their backs when they decide to run from the debate instead of trying to defend their beliefs.

Or maybe they find you extremely boring because you suck at trolling.

How so? According to your statement, it is cut and dried. According to your statement, they are on God's shit list.
They are but they will eventually come around or be brought around.

You seem to misinterpret simple facts and truth as "terribly prejudiced against religion..."

I am not prejudiced against religion. Have been raised very much in it, I simply decided as an adult it was not for me. I stand fully behind the letter and spirit of the First Amendment. Any person can embrace any religion he wishes, and the government protects that right and must remain neutral in religious matters. I acknowledge that religion is very helpful to many individuals, but I also understand that superstition and fear are very much in play in some religions. Some more than others it seems.

But your insulting/demeaning/accusing those who believe whatever pretty much contradicts your comment here.

Yes, I've been accused of having a sharp tongue for most of my life. So sorry if your feelings were hurt. Just because one speaks or writes arrogantly does not mean he's wrong.

My feelings weren't hurt. But you were very VERY wrong.

Trust me my friend, no Christians find challenges to their supernatural beliefs as 'boring'. We're now seeing a surge of fighting back to defend their beliefs.

And a tendency to ignore atheism by the more enlightened Christians who understand that defending it leads to mockery. They're silently rethinking what is left for them to believe?

YOu need to choose what kind you're going to be and then stick to it!

Let's start with Jonah and the big fish story first!
