I don't know why nobody has challenged your take, but I will! The middle class is not shrinking, because it is NOT possible. By math, the middle class grows as the country grows.

Now, if instead you are claiming that the those in the middle have less buying power, then that is true. But then again, the reason they have less buying power is simple------->the government takes to much of their earnings.
