Can we now agree both left and right that China is our enemy... and we are enriching them.

It's well past to time to bring our manufacturing home and reinstate tariffs on China to level the labor pay field.

And the GOP apparently.

When are Americans going to realize that their enemies are their government, and the truly 'flagless' profit driven corporations?

Let me break this down for a ninja.

Remember the USSR?

They were a totalitarian socialist republic too!

Remember them?

I know it was over 30 years ago...but there is Google if you forgot.

They were our sworn enemy right?

Now,

What was our trade deficit with them?

How many of our politicians openly worked with them on business and trade policies?

How many of our corporations manufactured products there?

How many of their citizens attended our universities?

How many Soviet Communists owned large tracts of land in the USA?

Were they EVER, at ANY point given 'most favored nation' trading status?

Did they, or could they purchase our debt, thus having a financial leverage against us...innnn addition to all of the other things?

Now...WHO..WHO? Made all of those things possible with the PRC?

Well fuck me in the knot...WE FUCKIN DID!

So WHO is to blame?

WHO should we first look at?

That's absolutely correct...OUR GOVERNMENT.

One last question.

Who do they really work for?

Hint, it ain't you!

Yeah... I've heard that talking point... and the Democrats are oh so angry at everyone who sides with Russia... with one glaring omission... China.

Perhaps you could enlighten us with an on topic response to the original post.

Where are all the Democrats chomping at the bit to virtue signal their contempt for all those who side with Russia?

GOP is Root’n for Putin

They want to see Ukraine as part of Russia

Have the tariffs on China been removed? I don't think so. China does not have to be our enemy,
but can continue as our economic rival. Trump's trade wars only served to drive our allies into trade deals with China and cost American consumers much more for goods. Prices rose dramatically for lumber and goods imported from China. His belligerent approach to China and his behavior after he lost the election has put China on alert, because they were afraid that trump would do something rash to keep power. Diplomacy, not threats, were the way to go in this instance.
A problem, as I see it, may be the love affair that Biden has with big labor and large minimum wage
increase for unskilled labor, since it will also mean a an increase for skilled labor resulting in a total cost increase for business. This translates into higher prices (in time) to offset this cost increase.
It is a vicious cycle.

Tump already told Putin that he is a fan, and if that isn't a pat on the back, I don't know what is.
Trump already told Putin he had a right to Crimea and dropped sanctions

The new sanctions will remain unless Trump is elected again

How strange.

No comments on China siding with Russia being evil.

As I suspected... the sentiment among Democrats that those siding with Russia should be punished is only true when it suits their political narrative.

Selective outage strikes again.

OK

What are you proposing we do to China?

"China supports Russia in resolving the issue through negotiation with Ukraine," the readout Friday said, backing Putin’s most recent claim that he’s ready to negotiate with Kyiv.

I don't believe either one.

Just what I stated in the OP... Initiate policies that motivate a shift in manufacturing back to the US. It's win-win-win-win and I don't understand why Democrats oppose it.

1. More US jobs.

2. Increased GDP.

3. Reduced trade deficit.

4. Increased tax revenue.

5. Reduced carbon emissions.

6. A more self sufficient US is better for national security.

China is watching what happens to Russia in terms of consequences to their Ukraine invasion as a precursor to what they might expect if and when they invade Taiwan. Which i think they're going to do fairly soon if they're ever going to do it. I'm not sure what the rest of the world can do to hurt China that much, we can sanction their ass but will they care?
