50/50 this or he was not mentally ill and had been drummed up to this, one way or the other.

Wars have started for much less. We don't say the people who started them were "mentally ill". We call it history.

A British security expert on TV, very confident in his expertise on protecting "principals" (his words) said that there is "something fishy" about this attack. He seems.convinced that there was some collaboration, or,.extreme incompetence.

Hindsight is 20/20, but clearly someone failed to secure the venue properly.

To his credit, Trump hasn’t been stirring the pot by floating conspiracy theories with his usual “people are saying…” act.

His first comment thanked the SS and law enforcement for their prompt response. His followers should take a cue from him and tone down the speculation and “inside job” rumors

That depends on whether you think mental illness is a simple "state of mind" that is transitory or if it's an intractable pre-existing condition.

To put it in different terms:

Do I have stomach issues because I keep consuming Mexican for every meal, or do I have Crohn's disease? (I have the latter and never do the former).

Not every transitory "condition" is an illness, for pete's sake.

As well as I thought the Secret Security reacted on stage they did let a 20 year old kid shoot the former president from a nearby building with people shouting about him.
