The cultural norm in the U.S. is that the bride's father ushers the bride to the altar, where the groom takes her hand before the ceremony.

But in today's social environment, it is more than likely that there is some supervening factor that either prevents this tradition from taking place, or allows the bride to deviate for her own reasons. Maybe the father is deceased, maybe he is estranged from the bride, maybe a step-father or other paternal figure has replaced the biological father in some way.

Add to those complications the fact that in the CURRENT culture, brides are allowed to do pretty much what they want for their own wedding, even when it is foolish and the wiser members of her family know that she - the bride - will look back at those wedding photos with regret and/or embarrassment.

Regardless, it is tacky when the bride and groom go down the aisle together. Save that for third and subsequent marriages when nobody gives a shit.

Who does?

This is an absolutely brilliant question that I believe will have some sort of allegorical meaning when it comes to the First Resurrection where Messiah Yeshua - Jesus is given His glorified and resurrected allegorical "Bride." Many Christians would term this event "The Rapture." They could well be correct in making that connection?!


At least one near death experiencer was shown some clues about this event. It is my believe that the Ancient of Days, The Father, leads the allegorical Bride of Messiah Yeshua - Jesus to Him!

I can clearly recall how Jesus’ voice paused at this moment. He was savoring an anticipation too intense and private to be revealed. Was he pre-living that moment at which he would enjoy the victory which his Father would give him as the eternal reward for his own long-suffering? His own sting of death would be swallowed up, and he would be the omniscient Head of a completed and compliant body for whom he had shed his blood on a terrible cross. He would reign as KING of the Jews after these days of grace. Then his thoughts returned to me.

“My son, when that time has come, my Father will call to me. The applause of the heavenly hosts will be deafening; they too have been awaiting that day, ever since they announced my birth to the shepherds at Bethlehem so long ago. Scoffers will gaze with fear and wonder as my angelic hosts watch me fulfill my promise to my earthly body of believers at my soon return to Earth.
