Who knew we needed a law like this?

LOL, The democrats spent taxpayer $$$ for 8+ years on blatant witch hunts and now the bill is due and they are still saying Trump, Trump, Trump. Newsflash---any TORT has to go through the court system that the democrats abused for the past 8+ years---Suddenly you don't trust the court system? Hmmmm.
The investigations into Trump’s crimes were perfectly appropriate, warranted, lawful, and constitutional – he’s entitled to no ‘compensation.’

I guess those courts you trust so much will be the final determination eh. I don't much care what your uninformed, biased, partisan stance is on it. The court will decide.

Schiff seeks to block $230 million payout to Trump

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is trying to block President Trump from receiving payouts from the Justice Department with a new bill, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: It's the latest move in a long, ongoing battle between Trump and Schiff, which has been rife with accusations of political corruption.

It comes as the House also plans to block a measure included in the recent government funding package that would allow senators to sue the government for up to $500,000 if their phone records were obtained without their knowledge.
Driving the news: Schiff is introducing a bill Thursday called the No Torts for Trump Act, which would prevent sitting presidents from seeking taxpayer-funded payouts by amending the Federal Tort Claims Act.

  • The move follows reporting that Trump asked the Justice Department to pay him a settlement of roughly $230 million in compensation for its investigations into him.

trump isn't the only one trying to belly up to the public trough.

Michael Flynn claims he was 'targeted' by FBI because he was 'direct threat' to 'deep state' plot to 'discredit and derail President Trump' in $50 million lawsuit

Bloomberg is reporting Flynn is currently in talks to settle the case.

Michael Flynn, DOJ in Talks to Settle $50M Claim

Gee, that's not a great precedent to set. Any friend of Don's who thinks the DoJ done him/her wrong could seek and receive a big payday. Guess who will be the decider? Hint: his skin has an orange hue.

Uncle Sam better get out the check book. Cuz it could mean any co-conspirator of trump's named in any of Jack Smith's indictments may be getting a little something extra in their x-mas stocking.

Where does the madness end?

Well... who knew that there would one day be a President who would not think twice about stealing from the American taxpayers?

STFU and turn in your shit house lawyer certificate. Torts are CIVIL claims and have nothing to do with the DOJ, moron. SMFH.
Asked about the issue at the White House after this article published, the president said, “I was damaged very greatly and any money I would get, I would give to charity.”

He added, “I’m the one that makes the decision and that decision would have to go across my desk and it’s awfully strange to make a decision where I’m paying myself.”

Lawyers said the nature of the president’s legal claims poses undeniable ethics challenges.

“What a travesty,” said Bennett L. Gershman, an ethics professor at Pace University. “The ethical conflict is just so basic and fundamental, you don’t need a law professor to explain it.”

He added: “And then to have people in the Justice Department decide whether his claim should be successful or not, and these are the people who serve him deciding whether he wins or loses. It’s bizarre and almost too outlandish to believe.”

GFY.

Sorry, but no. However, that is an accurate description of John Durham's investigation. And all the investigations in to Joe Biden.

Because what they did to him is utter bull shit.
Sorry, but no. The investigations had a legitimate predicate, as did the investigations in to the Traitor-in-Chief.

15th post
That doesn’t make it legal to lie to the FBI.
Never said it did…but, now you’re crossing into the chicken or the egg argument.

If there was no predicate, then there was no basis for questioning…

There was ample predicate. The DNI is out there lying about communications with Russian government officials. That represents a national security threat that needs to be evaluated.

Even so, it comes down to a matter of judgement. It certainly isn’t some miscarriage of justice that warrants millions of dollars of compensation from the government.

That’s your opinion…let’s see what the conclusion is.
