If you look at the actual acts, and policies of the founders they more closely resemble modern Libertarians than a Modern Day Liberal, or Conservative. They were all about Limiting the governments powers of the Individual. That was perhaps the most central core belief they held. What in the hell about Modern Liberalism makes you think they share that same core belief?
