Who is Rick Perry?

The celebration of the new year is one of the oldest holidays. Many believe it was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4000 years ago it marked the first New Moon after the Vernal Equinox. The Babylonian new year celebration lasted for eleven days. How did New Years Day move from the summer to the winter? A good question, especially since the spring is the season of rebirth, of planting new crops, and of blossoming. Today New years Day is January 1st.

The month of January was named for their god, Janus, who is pictured with two heads. One looks forward, the other back, symbolizing a break between the old and new. The Greeks paraded a baby in a basket to represent the spirit of fertility. Christians adopted this symbol as the birth of the baby Jesus and continued what started as a pagan ritual. Today our New Year's symbols are a newborn baby starting the next year and an old man winding up the last year.

Not Christian by any stretch of the imagination.

History of New Years Day

Not Christian by any stretch of the imagination.

Ok.
You;ve been proven a liar about Perry's views. You've been proven to be dishonest about Perry's increasing debt in Texas. You've failed to show the US is not a Christian country.
IOW, you have been just pwned on this and other threads. What else is there for you? Take the day off and go ride a bike or something.

Yup, longest serving governor in Texas history, never lost an election, created more jobs than every other state combined.
You'll want to register as a Republican so you can vote for him in the primaries.

He's a Republican?

He doubled the debt in Texas. Maybe a Republican but not a conservative obviously.

How about that Gardasil he wanted to forcibly give to your daughter when she turns 12 because she "may" be sexually active? These are Republican values?
Oooh scary statistic, Perry Doubled (did you hear that? He DOUBLIED the debt). So now Texas ranks all of 49th in per capita indebtedness among the states.
The Tax Foundation - State Debt Per Capita and as a Percentage of State GDP, Fiscal Year 2009

And I would think you would be opposed to the spread of STDs, not like you haven't spread a few yourself.
:cuckoo:

You bet, I am opposed to the Government forcing a doctor to give your 12 year old daughter a shot to prevent something that she isn't going to get unless she is sexually active. I guess I'm more conservative than Rick and yourself.

Makes me wonder why anybody would be for such an intrusion into their private lives. You really have to wonder how people like yourself would have reacted if President Obama wanted to do that.

Let me guess, you'd be all for it, right?

If not, why not?

So you're in favor of teens dying from cancer. Got it.
I thought libs fancied themselves defenders of the helpless and at-risk.

Not many 12 year olds get cancer dumbass. It's not exactly a communicable disease now is it. Put down the bong for a few moments and answer the question.

You could not prove I "lied" (probably because I didn't) and now that I've proven that New Years Day isn't s religious holiday, you resort to the moronic equivalent to "go fly a kite". Thanks for reiterating for all the readers what a complete imbecile you are.

Actually, the vaccine requirement is one of the few things I AGREE with Perry on.

12 year olds DO get raped. I have a friend with cancer who would not have it had the HPV vaccine been available and mandatory at the time she was raped.

Perry's support for the vaccine probably has less to do with health concerns and more to do with drug company donations.

How much money did drug companies make and how much did they donate to Perry? Links, please. Otherwise you are merely lying yet again.

Dance little bitch. I'll re-state it since you seemed to have missed it:

How would you have reacted if President Obama wanted to force your 12 year old daughter to get a shot to prevent STDs?

Every person is exposed to cancer everyday; the odds of a 12 year old girl having her vagina exposed to a cancer is extremely small unless you happen to be in the same zip code I guess. Did you have to register or do they just assume you're a sleezebag?

Again, if Obama wanted to come after your daughter with a syringe full of HPV and the law on his side, would you stand aside and tell her it's for her own good?

I own you. Whats worse; you know it.

Here is the story about Why Ricky wants to force your daughter to get a shot that she doesn't need and may kill her:

AUSTIN (AP) -- Gov. Rick Perry ordered Friday that schoolgirls in Texas must be vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer, making Texas the first state to require the shots.

The girls will have to get Merck & Co.'s new vaccine against strains of the human papillomavirus, or HPV, that are responsible for most cases of cervical cancer.

Merck is bankrolling efforts to pass laws in state legislatures across the country mandating it Gardasil vaccine for girls as young as 11 or 12. It doubled its lobbying budget in Texas and has funneled money through Women in Government, an advocacy group made up of female state legislators around the country.

Details of the order were not immediately available, but the governor's office confirmed to The Associated Press that he was signing the order and he would comment Friday afternoon.

Perry has several ties to Merck and Women in Government. One of the drug company's three lobbyists in Texas is Mike Toomey, his former chief of staff. His current chief of staff's mother-in-law, Texas Republican state Rep. Dianne White Delisi, is a state director for Women in Government.

Typical politician; proven again.

Except he can't put out a fire in his state. Been burning since January Rick. Time to man up and put it out; dontcha think?

Odd how us "right-wing-nut-jobs are chastised when we spoke up against schools handing out condoms, huh?

Weird,

Strange.....

I agree Perry was wrong to use an Executive Order to order the Vaccination. It did have an opt out in all fairness, still it was bad law. I would not want it for my Daughter.

Wow Rabbi...that's a very "socialist" position you are taking. Since obesity is a much greater threat even than cervical cancer, do you also support requiring healthier meal choices in schools and in the children's menus at fast food establishments?

STD/Birth control being pushed on kids against parents' wishes.
Where's the stretch?

Because it's not an injection?
Puh-lease
