Analyzing data from U.S. public schools going back to 1967, the researchers found that segregation between white and Black students has increased by 64 percent since 1988 in the 100 largest districts, and segregation by economic status has increased by about 50 percent since 1991.

How do you expect these people to escape those urban plantations? Public schools with roach infestations, mold on the walls, and fifteen year old textbooks taught by teachers that are barely getting by? I mean you talk the talk, but how about walking the walk. What do you suggest we do about it. Do you really think if we don't let the poor buy Little Debbie cakes with their food stamps they will pick themselves up by the bootstraps and become productive members of society?
And single mothers, well damn, get rid of the benefit cliff. If the idea is for people to lift themselves up out of poverty then why do we beat hell out of them every step of the way? Marginal tax rates that routinely exceed 85%, and in some cases, workers actually lose money by making more.
We, as a nation, are more divided than at any time since the Civil War. And you seem to wake up each morning attempting to fan that divide with platitudes and characterizations. Just carve the people up, wall them off from each other. First thing we need to do, STOP DIGGING.
