They shouldn't have been on Signal doing this. It was dumb, and there was no reason for it. That said it doesn't appear that any actual targeting data or mean/methods were compromised, and there is certainly a ton of hyperbole surrounding this which everyone should expect. This was an unforce error.

I think it's stupid to use signal for anything government related. Even highly secure government lines can be hacked occasionally.
A private company is not going to spend millions of dollars to meet that standard and therefore should automatically be discarded from use.

I use it myself to keep in touch with family members. It provides a nice private environment that is generally non-accessible unless you are a member of the group. It's probably not super secure though.... Then again I am no expert on Internet security... Given the propensity of the Democrats to do sneaky shit anything they give freely would be subject to suspicion in my eyes. Are they making a big deal out of nothing? Yep.
