Virginia was a State in rebellion against the United States, you bloody fool! The State and the individuals who REBELLED, including R.E. Lee who resigned his commission in the US Army in April 1861 on the day Virginia seceded from the Union and took up arms against the United States, all became traitors for forsaking the Constitution.
