Baptism saves. Who knew? The Catholic Church, for over 20 centuries, that's who knew. Some who claim to follow the Bible do not follow it when a Catholic quotes it. Strange how that works. But as the Word also says, there are many liars in the world or words to that effect. It also says "Even now, there are many antichrists in the world."

People should always be careful they are not, wittingly or otherwise, in THAT category..

But the Word does tell us all to work out our OWN salvation with fear and trembling, so I hope you do that.. in which case, you will want to STUDY Church history as I have and learn the truth about the Catholic Church.

In some ways, you could be "right"about certain things or beliefs - as you understand them, anyway - and there is nothing wrong with that - in itself.

But when you use "what you believe to be true" in a way to persecute and divide, not only those within your same faith but from other faiths as well - what do you accomplish?

As for working on your salvation with "Fear and Trembling" - let's take a look at that entire passage and see how we're doing....

And did you know that "Fear and Trembling" was an old Hebrew saying that basically meant "In awe"? As in "Wow, God is doing all of this" It NEVER meant to (physically) "fear and tremble" or to shake in fear. Quite the opposite.

Then there's dozens of other examples where you seemed to be "grumbling" and attempting to "argue" about certain beliefs, etc. in various threads, etc.

The fact that we are on a message board, in the religious section would actually make that "normal" - so I certainly would never hold that passage against you or anyone else. I brought it up because it was the passage you had quoted "Fear and Trembling". Healthy debate is always something we can hope to learn from - even the Apostles themselves debated over certain rituals and meanings.

I think the idea of the passage is not to be known as "The guy who is always grumbling and arguing over everything" - but obviously healthy debate and discourse is normal - it's written all over the letters of St Paul, St Peter and so forth.
