It’s the same dumb, baseless logic they used when the recession of 2008 started. The Dems won an election therefore it was all their fault. Never mind the fact that the recession ended 6 months into Obama’s first term when Dems had full control. Republicans seem to lack any sort of nuance when it comes to economics. They just blame democrats. It sounds good and it doesn’t challenge them to think critically as always.
And no, for the record, I don’t blame Trump for the upcoming recession. Granted his retarded tariff war with China will make it worse, but the recession would have occurred regardless of who won the election.
So when the recession does happen (and it’ll be soon), will it be the tired logic of it all being the Dems fault and not all Trump’s? Timing is all republicans need to reason with I guess.
Gas prices are lower again
to bad they didnt continue rising cause you guys could of used another 55 threads on the lets blame trump for it
recessions dont scare most
MEh
They don't scare me, not in the least. No, I'm not being smug and elitist, I'm a product of the recession of the 70's when my dad got laid off and brought back, laid off and brought back, let go completely from one place only to be re employed at the "good" job for all of 3 months or so and then let go again.
We'd go from steak to generic food bought with food stamps back to steak to one night digging a squirrel out of the freezer that'd been there a while and eating it.
All I knew was no how no way was I gonna depend on any company or an economy that fluctuates to feed ME as I got older but still wasn't sure what to do even after going in the Army for school money but one day I saw the commercial and it clicked, heating and air, because the weather is not tied to the economy.
No matter what happens it's going to get cold this winter, and people will pay me to keep them warm, I hadn't even thought about the demands of AC season, but I knew we could be in the deepest depression this winter and there will STILL be people willing to pay me to fix it.
There's plusses and minuses in everything in life, I still wish I would have gotten an engineering degree but that's what my upbringing, back when unemployment ran out quick and food stamps were a stigma to be used as infrequently as you had to be in line with your head down, it spurred me to do better and never have to deal with those conditions again.
Today everyone whines when their EBT card doesn't buy filet mignon too, it's not fair, so they need to be allowed to do that as well as need a little bump in pay, they WOULD like some dessert to go with that fine meal too, just like everyone else, you don't want to stygmatize them do you?
Yes, yes I do.
There is no growth without a little pain, and a little motivation from outside forces making you do what you don't want to do, but feel better for yourself afterward for having done.
