Thoughts from an Independent

For the last 20+ years Republicans and Democrats in Congress have refused to vote with the other side on much of anything - even if they supported the legislation under a previous President. Result: Very little gets done. So, is this as good as it gets? Are we going to be left with nothing but perpetual gridlock? If so, I fear for the future of our country.

Given how bat-shit crazy the dems have become maybe gridlock is not such a bad thing.

Any time the gop tries to work with them America loses something in the process because the gop is weak and barely better than the vile dems.

The gop needs to do what they can under reconciliation....The parliamentarian be damned.

It sucks but there it is.

I fear either way that this nation is lost. It just remains to see how long before the carcass stops moving.

You are looking at it wrong. Gridlock is the best option for the future of our country.

No new scams like "Green New Deals" or more give-aways to buy votes, like Biden's forgiving student loans.

Trump wants a $1.5T defense budget!! WTF? Both parties scam the taxpayers.

There is no center anymore and compromise is considered treason

Thinking people don’t want them doing anything because when they do, it’s bad for the American people.

When your government is controlled by a cabal of Neocons, Zionists, big corporations and banks, the American people always get F**K.

No. No difference between the two crime families. Both support the war machine, Israel, and big corporations. The oligarchs run the country and they hate the American people.

The Founders made it difficult to get a new law passed, on purpose. Passing laws that could potentially impact every single American is serious business and should not be done casually. They would have been appalled at the very notion of people spending entire careers in Congress and getting pensions as though it were just a job.

At present, we have a major party that utterly rejects the national Government that is described in the U.S. Constitution, with Congress having LIMITED powers and government powers that are not explicitly granted to the Federal government in the Constitution reserved to the States and we, the People.

We have a large percentage of the population dependent on unconstitutional Federal programs, making it politically suicidal to even hint that you want to exercise rational constraint, based on what the Constitution actually says.

I forget what political philosopher first observed it, but when The People figure out that they have the ability to vote money and benefits from the taxpayers to themselves, our democracy is doomed. That's were we are now. "Vote for Bernie if you want free stuff!"

Most of the dependencies are by big corporations and billionaires.

Gridlock gives the real actual facts time to be seen, shared, and raised to a point of majority consensus.
