Usury and simple profit all happened at once, and likely barley seed was all spread around. No problem. A stable food supply, and civilization could happen.
Code of Hammurabi addressed a different problem--failure to repay. Settlement of debts could happen with an end to all the aggravation all at once. The wife and kids could be sold into slavery--a kind of first communism, or socialism. No profit had been created. No profit would happen. The wife and kids were housed, bathed, clothed, nourished, put to useful productivity, and even housed. That was apart from the main commerce, and not much arithmetic happened. There may have been A first mother, and six little dwarfs--like seven days could be said to happen--with no precise computing of any relative value. There was "nominal," naming arithmetic.
The Imperial House of Pharaoh understood, later on, about subjugation, denigration, and like reading, writing and arithmetic--even lunatic looking like it was. Out of that would come Moses, (Acts 7:22), all skilled. . .and eventually, Jewish. "Be Fruitful, Multiply, Fill All The Earth, Subdue It, (Gen 1:28): And if you are Jewish, then "Screw 'em!" (Deut 23:19-20). Arithmetic had been created--and likely in more than seven days. Imperial Egypt would be famously well regarded, like other Imperial households--not at all like the Greeks--even of the Democratic City-States. They too, would become prized as slaves--knowing what Imperial Households of the time of Egypt, and before and after, had known.
Probably New Testament Jesus knew some. The fallacy of usury arithmetic would be shown in Matthew 25:14-30. The Pythagorean Theorem could even be applied. Anyone could make a picture, "hieroglyphic" of what went wrong. The square root of five squared, plus the square roof of five squared, would compute an increase of seven new units. Other five talents, and other two talents--creating rewarded subjugators--would not be a total of eight new talents. One was put in the earth for safekeeping, and the purveyor would soon be thought worthless. The purveyor got cast out.
And so we have a Christian World even now.
A remedy, likely Greek, was also proposed. Regardless if the labor was by different people, and of different skills and times--an equal amount was paid at the end of the day. Anyone who didn't need it could put it to the exchangers. Anyone less literate could go to the market plaza, or even to the Roman entertainments. A slave-based economy it was, but a denigrating economy it was not.
And fast forward 700 years to Mohammed the Prophet. The old math of profit was OK, but wealth from Riba (usury or interest), was not OK. Nothing much useful shown in that. Fast Forward 1000 years to Adam Smith. Usury and Profit were both allowed. No mention of the remedy proposed in Matthew 20:1-16, was made. 75 years later--same problem with Karl Marx. 75 years after that: Same problem with gay Lord Keynes. The velocity of usury was such that math was not as much a part of it as anyone could believe, and so: "He bade the people bend over, and await the public works." Many might call it one "Butt ugly" economy, and theory after all!.
Now anyone can put the two New Testament stories into one rectangle with a fifth quadrant off to the side. A diagonal from the lower left corner, to the upper right, can be drawn in to show how profit and usury works. Little dots from the left side to the right side can be drawn in. Those are the equal amount remedy kinds of payments. The source of the payments is the credit market. Too much credit--higher prices are needed to repay it. No ability to repay it, some neutral source has to absorb. A fifth, sixth, and other quadrant can be shown. Personal Income in the United States is about 16.0 tril. The Total Credit Market is way more than that.
Matthew 20:1-16, was applied directly into the market in the Make Work Pay Refundable Income Tax Credit, in 2009. The Republicans took that away in 2011. Many showed up in the 2016 primaries at RNC, and none made it out of RNC Convention. An outsider otherwise oblivious made it out instead.

He has noticed that with the credit just at the Federal Government--there is nothing out there to spend on the infrastructure--and anything else. "He is a part of the Problem," is no a refrain of the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee. He climbed up the elected official ladder, and now seems likely to ascend to the big-time.
What did Bill Clinton know, February 1992: "Dear Philip, Thank you for your thorough and helpful briefing. . . . ." There had even been raised and indexed standard deduction, and personal exemptions, in the 1986 U. S. federal income tax reform. All the tax gimmicks eventually threw half the economy off the tax rolls. Gerald Ford, a friend of my material uncle, had followed along Senator McGovern's plan. Not $1000, but $50.00 rebates would start the New Math rolling, from somewhere around the time of the famous alleged crucifixion. The 1960's had been underway, themselves(?). . .soon to be over, (unless they were(?)!
Somehow, there were liberals back then(?). My oldest Sister-in-Law is Catholic, and an original JFK for President kind of team member, from even before 1960. "The Torch has passed. . . ." She and my oldest brother were in the front row bleacher seats. His younger brother was Chief of Medicine at an Albuquerque hospital. Now he seems to be for Gary Johnson. His next door neighbor had been U. S. Senator Domenici, when they both had five kids(?)!
Now it is noted that many do get called. That doesn't mean that any of them male or female politicians, get chosen! Now it is not entirely clear. . . .Just what the snorting was all about, right there in front of everybody(?)!
