Zone1 When Is A Baby Considered Alive?

Don't you have any kids? You would know this, if you did.

I think Life starts with a heartbeat.

Yes, I know what the guy is saying. But I am sure it is a rare case for a few that don't have a heartbeat and still alive.

Most cases, when a baby starts forming a heartbeat, she/he is usually "officially" alive.

I wonder if those babies who don't have a heartbeat, and still alive, actually go on living a normal life? I a sure they would need some medical device to keep the "heart" pumping somehow.

Not yet. I hope to someday though. 😊

No, all babies are alive before a heartbeat in the sense that they're growing inside the womb.

Huh? What do you mean?

First dirty diaper.

So when a baby is kicking in the womb and at the moment of birth they're not considered alive to you?

I can consider Lima beans to be a desert or a lace curtain to be a blanket. It's all irrelevant.

I don't know what the medical devices are called.I am not a doctor. But the medical devices that keeps the heart beating.

So you're obviously talking about critically ill babies because all regular and healthy human beings have heartbeats.

What in the world are you babbling about now? 🤨

Maybe...

I am not a doctor, as I just mentioned. I don't know the terms they use.

Mortis you're scaring me if you don't know the fact that all living human beings have heartbeats.

I've been saying when they get a heartbeat for years but this guy makes a valid point. Plants are alive and they don't have heartbeats. They're alive because they're growing. So I guess a fetus can be alive in that sense.

.

But technically, a plant NEVER has a heartbeat. Otherwise there might be a good point here.

I'm Catholic and most of us believe that life starts at the moment of conception.

I'd bet that you'll get a different answer, depending on who you're talking to. Some pro-abort would tell you life starts at birth, until they decided they want to have a child.

For now, I'll stick with the moment of conception, and as someone who has worked for a doctor who performed abortions, the guilt I carry around due to my participation of flushing something obviously human down the lab sink, I only pray that God has forgiven me.

As someone who has converted to Catholicism only a year ago, I know that technically God has forgiven me that sin, but the guilt still lingers.
