When gun couldn`t help

Life has a peculiar sense of humor. Nice security they have there. After all, it's not like they sell anything that anyone might want to steal. There is a difference between potato chips and guns...Kind of kills the NRA theory of "the more guns people have the less crime there will be"...doesn't it?

Actually, it doesn't. Law abiding citizens, non military, non police, stop violent criminal attacks and save lives with guns 1.6 million times a year on average. The gun murder rate by criminals is only 8-9,000 a year, 80% of which occur in inner cities and are committted by gangs.

So....1.6 million crimes stopped vs. 8-9,000 gun murders each year....which is the bigger number? Which number is the better number?

And I have to ask...did those robbers know it is against the law to steal guns?

Did they know that before they steal guns they have to undergo a federal background check?

Are those robbers licensed to carry concealed weapons?

It shows that if criminals want guns, no law is going to stop them.

And by the way....more and more Americans own and carry guns...and the violent crime rate has gone down again last year, 2013....not up....

How do you explain that?

And here is a question not one anti gun poster has commented on....there was a shooting at Nordstroms here in Chicago, where an ex boyfriend went into a gun free zone and killed his ex girlfriend and then killed himself....he had been stalking her for a year after the break up, he had broken her ribs and put a gun in her mouth and had repeatedly called and stated he was going to kill her and then himself....the police could not help her, even though her family works for the police dept. and no judge gave her a restraining order...although restraining orders are useless anyway....

So as an anti gunner.....what do you say to these women, who have known deranged men stalking them and may very likely kill them.

Now keep in mind, we also had a case of a husband killing his wife with a hatchet...she had left him and gone into hiding in Wisconsin...he found her and killed her with a hatchet that you can buy for 10 dollars...

So......you would tell this woman shot at Nordstroms that no, she can't have a gun to defend herself......well....then what....since a gun is the most effective way for a woman to fight against a larger more aggressive, armed male.....what do you tell her to do to save her life?

Anything?

Gotta love how ONE example completely invalidates millions of counter examples.

With the limited amount of info available, your posts leaves something to be desired.

Since this happened in CA, I would ask whether or not the store owner is allowed to be armed.

Second of all, it seems to me that the store owner did exactly what she should have done. If she had access to a loaded weapon, she didn't attempt to grab it. By the time she saw that she was being robbed, it was too late to do so. This is called being responsible. The anti-gun people always accused gun biffs of being reckless. Thanks for showing it not to be the case.
