When exactly does the Democrats' socialism kick in?

Socialism also allows markets provided they're under the government's control and economic plan. Capitalism can exist under socialism. It has to be well-regulated.
That is what the socialists tell us.

The hell with what old farts, brainwashed by Cold War capitalist propaganda (raised in the golden age of our nation's economy right after WW2) think. The younger generation wants their socialism and they're going to get it!

New Generation: 10
Old Brainwashed Farts: 0

That's funny.I never hear guys like Bernie Sanders or
Cenk Uygur talk politics without yelling.Like they're
always mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore.
Take what.A chill-out pill maybe.

What? Can you put spaces between your sentences?

LOL - no. That's not socialism. Socialism is state control over labor and resources - aka "the means of production". Go to a public library and check out a dictionary.

Sure there is - health care and health insurance are under the gun. Government price fixing, as proposed by Harris, is also socialism. Many prominent Dems self identify as socialists. There are plenty of posters on this board shilling for socialism (see below).
You shouldn’t be so dismissive when you are wrong.

The means of producing law enforcement is controlled by the government.

The means of producing education is controlled by the government.

Trying to pretend that "We already have socialism, so we should have some more!" is disingenuous. As is most socialist propaganda.

Capitalism privatizes its profits and makes public its losses.

It's socialism for the rich, and "pick yourself up by your own bootstraps" capitalism for the rest of us. That's how our system works.

Kinda neato to see where Boeing once the darling
of Airplane manufacturing is now on the ropes { literally }.
Because they went woke and gave up on The American
Dream. They decided to sell out to lying and cheating.
No way to maintain the consistency of the Great Henry Ford
pledge to insure every working American can afford a new car.
Which became reality.

Are you confusing and or conflating the word Producing
with actual building. The Government was never allotted
let alone granted poetic license to build stuff.
The Government creates laws and enforces them for
betterment of Society.
Politicians don't build squat. They pop off their yappers to
get moola and then divvy out for their own self-interest.

You're quite ignorant of socialism and communism. Socialism is the process that leads to communism, or it can also be defined as communism in its earliest form, as it transitions to full, high-communism. OK, so now that we got that out of the way, we need to correct your erroneous view on property rights within socialism and communism.

Private Property: All properties that are used to exploit human labor for a profit.
Personal Property: All properties for personal use. This can include one's house, a plot of land, a vehicle, computers, gun collection. etc.

In socialism, private properties can exist, preferably only within the consumer goods and services sector of the economy. These properties are regulated by the government and must follow the general economic plan set by the state. Any business that employs human labor, must abide by strict labor laws that protect workers and the general economic plan of the government.

High-Communism is defined as:

"A communist society would entail the absence of private property and social classes,[1] and ultimately money[6] and the state (or nation state).[7][8][9]

Communists often seek a voluntary state of self-governance but disagree on the means to this end. This reflects a distinction between a more libertarian socialist approach of communization, revolutionary spontaneity, and workers' self-management, and a more authoritarian vanguardist or communist party-driven approach through the development of a socialist state, followed by the withering away of the state.[10] As one of the main ideologies on the political spectrum, communist parties and movements have been described as radical left or far-left.[11][12]
[note 1]"

Source: Communism - Wikipedia

The final objective of high-communism is the withering away of the state, classes, and the need for money. None of that can occur without very advanced technology. So until technology allows the individual consumer to own the means of production and produce everything they consume,, they must own the means of production collectively through the socialist state.

The rich don't build squat, they pop off their yappers to get moola and then divvy out for their own self-interest, while living off of other people's labor.

At least under the right system of government, politicians are accountable to the electorate and can be recalled, impeached, or voted out of office and replaced with someone else. The US Government can and does build plenty of stuff, so you're quite confused and don't know what you're talking about. The government is whatever we want it to be, including our constitution. We decide that as the American people, today, under our present circumstances, not those that existed over 200 years ago.

I'll name more than one. Modern rockets, jet engines, advanced hydroelectric, the first nuclear reactor connected to a civilian grid, Tokamaks, Electron Microscopes, the first mobile phone network....

All of the above is irrelevant to the point that in the near future, capitalism is going to be replaced by socialism due to advanced automation and artificial intelligence. We are now entering into the socialist age, thanks to technology.

Can you explain how capitalism is going to be replaced by socialism due to advanced automation and artificial intelligence. I have read through your posts and I don't see the connection.

It’s not Capitalism. It’s not Meritocracy. Therefore it falls under the same big tent as Socialism…. A tent we need to burn to the ground with all its supporters inside it.
It's not socialism. When you figure out what is, then post it.

You shouldn't be so wrong when you're dismissive.

Trying to pretend that "We already have socialism, so we should have some more!" is disingenuous. As is most socialist propaganda.
I am not advocating for socialism. I started the thread challenging the idea that right wingers claim the democrats want to convert us to socialism. That’s bull shit. You nor anyone else can outline a policy that the dems want to implement that is socialist.

Since their answers were so bad I thought I’d at least help them by pointing out where we already have socialism so they have a reference. There is no push towards socialism outside health insurance.

Are you aware that capitalism is based on wages?

Except for the largest offence forces in the world. Or so I think I've been told they are.
How is that socialism? It seems to me the words communism and socialism have become a catch-all for a variety of perceived ills in our society.
Big Military - Socialism
Social Welfare - Socialism
Government deficit - Socialisms
Moral Decay - Socialism
Reducing Carbon Emissions - Socialism
Tax Increases - Socialism
Big Government - Socialism
Aid to Education - Socialism

The fact is socialism is goverment or the peoples ownership of the means of production. That of course can be interpreted to include government control of the means of production. However, it is a significant leap to equate regulations to controlling production.

Bottom line is that we do have some things in our economy that are socialist. That does meant our economic system is Socialism. We are a long way from that.

It’s shit. Put whatever title you want on it; but since it’s not Capitalism and Meritocracy, it has no value.
Again that is just a catch-all for all the things you don't like about our society. The only way to fix problems is to address them specifically. Many of the problems such a large bureaucratic government can only be fixed by creating problems that are a lot worse.

The government in total IS the problem. Since 1861 this government has operated in an extra-constitutional manner, and it only gets worse year by year. We actively ignore major sections of the founding document every single day. Both parties. Every single federal employee.

As intelligent automation continues to replace wage labor, the need for socialism increases. So it's only a matter of time before we'll have a non-profit-based, marketless, socialist economy.

Socialism also allows markets provided they're under the government's control and economic plan. Capitalism can exist under socialism. It has to be well-regulated.
In classic socialism there is no free market were prices are determined by supply and demand.

In classic socialism as defined by Marx, there is no private ownership of businesses. The workers in a business own it; that is, it becomes a coop. Workers are paid based on their contribution to production of goods. The workers would buy products from the various Coops in their area. The cost of products would be the cost of production. There is no profit.

In Marx's time, the early 18th century most economies were local that is most all goods were produces and consumed locally. When you attempt to apply Marx's theory nationally and internationally, the whole idea of coops falls apart. That is when goverment replaces the coops thus giving birth to communism.

The major problem with classic socialism or communism is that it ignores the basic human desire to acquire wealth, to own a bigger house, own more property. It destroys the desire to get head, to invent a better mousetrap.
