Slave owners were paid reparations for the loss of their "property" when Lincoln freed the slaves. The descendents of the slaves are still waiting for their compensation.

An actual person still alive at the time being paid reparations for something they legally owned at the time that was taken away from them to compensate for their loss of money is not the same thing as paying someone for something that happened decades before even their grandparents were born.

No blacks deserve reparations for something that happened a hundred years before they were born. It doesn't effect them.

And no, blacks are not effected by slavery today. Our two time black president, black business owners, black doctors, black congressman, black police chiefs would argue otherwise. Not to mention the millions of poor, dumb, poverty level whites would like to know where their white privilege is at.

And no one is honring or revering the people BECAUSE they owned slaves. No one ever does that. They honor and Revere the people who created this free country we live in right now. If it weren't for all of these hated slave owners we wouldn't live in a country that is free for everyone, even the blacks.

All anyone cares about is they owned slaves. They don't stop and think that they were also a part of a society that took a empty country and turned it into something that would become a world super power in record time and that a billion people around the world want to be a part of.

None of you ever even mention the facts we bought black slaves that were enslaved and sold to us by blacks. You never mention blacks that owned black slaves like William Ellison. You never mention the Chinese slaves used to build railroads. You don't mention places like Barbary where blacks enslaved far more whites than America ever did of blacks. All you ever can muster up is "racist slave owning south".

But as you mention, America did repair so much of the damage. A lot of Blacks in Africa might wish their ancestors had b een fortunate enough to become enslaved. I know that sounds "out there" because.. the slave ships alone were Hell on Earth... but still..
