Gadawg stopped learning shortly after potty training. As far as I can see, he not willing or possibly capable of learning.

So my question is this..why do some people just stop learning? Do they think they already know all there is to know? When they are exposed as idiots, they seem to not understand it, and not accept it.

Now I don't know about you, but when someone proves me wrong (it has happened. I know, hard to believe, but nobody, not even me, can maintain such high function 24/7..and everybody has gaps in their knowledge), I LEARN from that.

Not only that, but if someone corrects me, and the correction is legit (I find out because I LOOK IT UP) I don't then make more of a idiot of myself by continuing to use my faulty argument as if it has some worth. If I did that, why on earth would anyone take anything I say seriously? And why would I want to advocate for a point that has either been disproved, or just makes me look stupid?

So why do people do that? Are they just stupid? Are they incapable of learning? Or do they think the fact that the stupidity is emanating from THEM makes it worthwhile in and of itself, despite the fact that it's not true? "I know I'm talking bullshit, but because it's MY bullshit, it doesn't matter that it's untrue as I've been shown a thousand times. My own spectacular self will blind everyone to reality...I AM A GOD".

This is a phenomenon I see over and over when dealing with progressives (and incidentally, Christian haters). They think they are so incredible that they can't be bothered with facts, with truth, or with knowledge, period. They know they're right because they are, after all, themselves. They believe their dumb assertions are infused with some sort of fairy dust, generated by their own specialness.

And because they believe that, they refuse to move forward in their knowledge and understanding. They wallow in ignorance, and they call it enlightenment. It freaks me out.

Progressives select what they want to believe... There is no "truth" on the progressive side, everything is up to interpretation. They've been brainwashed (especially my generation x) with the notion that an individual interpretation trumps fact, and the root cause of all this is a linguistic philosophy called "Whole Language" in which words are defined or interpreted by the individual, instead of the common definition.. I know it sounds silly but, when kids are brainwashed with Whole Language at an early age, and are taught that whatever they believe is truth, that can carry over into other realms of their lives such as politics for example. In the progressive mind facts or truths are in the eye of the beholder, thats why when you bring up negative truths about their beliefs they will conveniently not debate or address them, they will act like those ideas were never part of the debate.. For example when progressives champion Marxism, and a dissenter brings up the horrors of Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Ho Che Minh, Pol Pot, Castro, Che Guevara etc and all the crazy brutal totalitarian crimes against humanity they committed progressives will absolutely throw all those adverse effects of socialism out the window because they want to believe socialism is a utopia - its their truth and facts only get in their way...

At any rate, Michael Savage has it right - "liberalism is a mental disorder."

At one time I was a progressive liberal, but I got past that mental defect when a grew up. I learned facts and realized progressives were just full of shit and nothing but drama queens and blatant liars and their lies insulted me and my intelligence. The more I learned the more wrong I realized progressive ideas were just blatantly wrong.. These motherfuckers tried to brainwash me into a socialist when I was in school.. These asshats championed Marxist ideology like it was a gift from God, but they never mentioned the horrors of socialism, such as totalitarian dictatorships, purges, culls, famine etc.. Of course this is why all these young college aged hipsters are running around with Che Guevara t-shirts on while attempting to portray themselves as "peace loving people" when in reality they have one of the more brutal, violent and sadistic men in history slapped across their chest...

In short progressives just have the minds of 5-year olds, they've never matured. Most conservatives were once progressives at a point in their lives, but they matured and grew up - cant say the same for progressives. Progressives either don't want to mentally mature or they believe what they believe is mature..

Hell, I have some progressive family members whom are in respectable professions, such as university professors and scientists and when we debate politics they turn into children and throw fits like children. Hell my aunt a few weeks ago started praising Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge and their alleged "equality" because she was unsatisfied with our social security and her pension... It was flippen ridiculous, and shes a proud progressive, huge Obama supporter, oh and shes also a math professor at the University of Chicago...

In reality progressives just cant handle the truth, therefore they make up their own delusional truths that jibes with what they want to believe.

Hell, I could write a psycho analysis thesis on the progressive mind...

What you've written right here blows Michelle Obama's Harvard thesis right out of the water. If you were to write it up and submit it at any college in teh US however, you'd be denied your degree and blackballed from your chosen profession.
