LOL, that's what they tell the president of Mexico. The running joke there is winning the election is tantamount to winning the lottery. You have six years to fill your pockets but then you're done.

The two party system has been in various stages of gridlock since the first Bush. Clinton achieved minor bipartisanship, but beyond that, you couldn't get both parties to agree that the sun is hot and water is wet since Y2K.
