What's wrong with our government.

Oh shut up already. Why even bother responding with that nonsense?

I have an opinion and if you don't like it sit there but don't feel like you have to control or be your usual snark
Your opinion is noted and dismissed due to extreme stupidity.

You whine and moan about term limits when you have that power right now! Don't vote them back in! I happen to like my Senators and I did like my Congressman until he resigned and left us with no representation for 6 months.

Term limits are everyone's panacea for what ails us, but it is a pipe dream to expect Congress would term limit themselves.

If Congress acted in accordance with the people's views on the major issues facing the country the POT, Party of trump, would be out of business.

Dude, in case you missed it, he smoked the skank your cult ran for President. Congress is enacting the policies that got him elected.

Oh get lost already. I've no interest in your squeaks.

So, kill off all the unwanted and unloved verse people taking personal accountability for their actions that get them pregnant in the first place along with their personal dysfunction for being unable to love and care for their own flesh and blood?

Why not kill off the dysfunctional ones instead and let the innocent life have a chance?
Or hand out the "morning after pills" like candy to women. Many women carry condoms, but most men don't like them, and black men generally won't use them. They should have the morning after pill handy for such occasions. Hell, give them to the men as well in case the gals don't have one.

The reason I wrote that thread was to show the popularity of positions Dem's hold with a majority of Americans on everything from doing something about climate change to passing enhanced gun control legislation.
Trust is difficult to rely on.

Simple answer. They don't listen to the people they 'represent'. Congressperson's desks are piled high with the real issues the people want addressed. Meanwhile they are chasing the 'soup of the day' issues along with others in the cloister. Also, they have no idea what's going on in their districts back home, and they don't care.
All Republics Go Bananas

The Constitution's crowned clowns are acting exactly the way this elitist system
designed for them to act.

What's wrong with our government

Too big, too powerful, too intrusive, too expensive and staffed by amoral miscreants.

It has essentially become a gigantic mafia family and won't change until the productive portion of the citizenry flat refuses to send it any more money.

Because it's FPTP.

The politicians often don't rely on the voters to keep them in power, they rely on the MONEY.

With Proportional Representation this would change.

The voters are a big problem. Keep voting in shitty duopoly moonbats, and then scream at each other about which party sucks less.

The voters are a big problem.
Bullseye! Instead of voting for someone else to make America a great place voters should cast their useless vote, then go home and make America great in their own lives. If I can do it, so can everyone else.

On the contrary, the two dictatorial parties that have hijacked government listen very carefully to those whom they represent. It has nothing to do with what may be thought of as "the average voter".
Yeah. It's kind of like the chicken or the egg thing, except for it's actually the voters who choose either MAGA or socialist politicians. So, in most cases anyway, the politicians ARE doing what their "constituents" want them to do.

Really "independent" thought would be that this means a genuine alternative to this binary situation is necessary. The "constituents" are those whose interests we all see being benefitted from the current situation, not hose roped into accepting only the cyphers offered up by the Big Two Parties. Lobbyists and their equivalent make the music to which the dance is danced.

Except for the fact that voters vote for who they want and they all want either Democrats or Republicans. If they wanted "other" they would vote other. As I said, in most cases, politicians are doing exactly what those who voted for them want them to do.
