What's Wrong With KoolAid?

I'm mostly asking this question to OhPleaseJustQuit, but to anybody who knows as I see it being bashed quite a bit on here. Or is drinking KoolAid just a reference to the fact that kids mostly drink it?

Which I didnt know about until I was educated here on USMB.

I know those little packets have no sugar.
When I was a kid my Mom would put in just enough to make it drinkable.
Of course she didnt know we had a stash of sugar out in the garage.
You can buy it pre sweetened but it cost more.The unsweetened packets go for 29 cents a each.

Grape KoolAid with ice cubes from those aluminum ice trays that had the handle, in one of these tumblers. Nirvana for me when I was a kid.
