Problem is, they moved republican voters from reliably red districts to purple and blue districts. So that weakened the old districts that were reliably red. If the historical tumor of a president stays on the same path, he could turn Texas blue. And it will be easier for that to happen, in a blue wave, than before they redrew the districts.
