What You Saw Tonight Was the Trump Effect

We buy whole bean coffee at Sprout's as we like to have ours freshly ground in the morning. A few months ago it was $12.99 for a one pound bag. When I went last week to get a new bag it was $18.99. This is what people are seeing and MAGA keeps thinking the anemic reduction in gas is an achievement.
Growing up on a farm...I always look to growing conditions when I'm trying to figure out why a particular commodity is going up or going down in price. Severe drought in coffee growing locations is driving this price increase. That would be happening no matter who was in the White House. Sorry but that's reality.

Virginia is a Blue State. So is New Jersey. New York City is overwhelmingly Blue. Thinking this election means that the Democrats are now ascendant is amusing. This was not a rejection of Trump's agenda, which remains extremely popular, it is liberals in liberal States and cities voting against Trump the man. If any of those elections had gone to a Republican THEN it would been the electorate sending a message!
I understand but Virginia was ify now it's solid Democrat. They decimated the republicans in the state. I guess you won't believe it until Texas turns Democrat next year. Why do you you think the republicans there cheated to change the election districts. They know this is coming.

Just like the egg crisis. Still hasn't come down much. And gas is sold on the international market , our presidents can't control that either. , too many players.

Virginia is solid Democrat because so many Virginians work for the Federal Government in Washington DC. Let's be honest, Stann...Winsome Sears was not a very good candidate. She might have made a great Governor but she wasn't someone that inspired the electorate like Youngkin did.

As for Texas turning Democrat next year? Calm down there, Sparky...Texas is a Red State now as is Florida and will become even more of a Red State with the redistricting that's being done.

US Presidents can put energy policies in place that will increase production. It takes time for those policies to increase production but it eventually will bring down oil prices. Bringing peace to the Middle East and Ukraine will also bring down the price of oil. This is a President who is working hard on all of those things.

This is how not smart our president is.

He says it's not his fault.

Then he blames the shutdown that he wont allow the GOP to negotiate over.

He is literally too dumb to connect these dots.
A CR is a major step to keep the gov open and give Congress time to negotiate ! the Dems will not negotiate !

Republicans felt the wrath tonight of voters rejecting Trump's agenda. The biggest issue for voters was the economy, with half listing it as their number one focus. Almost a year into his second term Trump has failed to deliver on the economy as food and energy prices continue to rise and 60% of voters disapprove of his handling. Republicans have lost their gains with Latino voters. In New Jersey, 64% went for Sherrill citing the economy and his handling of immigration has their largest concerns. Trump almost won New Jersey in last year's election largely due to the swing of Latino voters to the GOP. Gen Z voters also did a 180 and overwhelmingly backed the Democratic candidates after backing Trump last year. Overall, only 37% of voters approve of the job he is doing.

These numbers are abysmal and it's the only way a man like Jay Jones can get elected to the top law enforcement office in the state, despite his sociopathic comments about his opponents' children being publicly leaked. It's not just "blue state" statewide offices either. Down ballot, Republicans have lost 11 seats in the Virginia House Delegates, taking the Democrats' 51-49 majority to 62-38. In Georgia, Democrats defeated Republican incumbents in statewide races for Public Service Commissioner. In Pennsylvania, they are sweeping judicial races across the board.

MAGA appears to be repeating the same errors of the 2018 midterm election cycle, denying that Trump is an albatross around their necks by not delivering what the people want. They went on to lose 41 House seats that year.

The oil companies are not producing at capacity now, and they rarely do or will. They will make as much oil at any given time as they see as maximizing their profits. If that means slowing production, then that is what they do.

What President's right now can do is toss federally protected lands to the highest bidders for minerals rights. And those rights will themselves be traded like currency, most likely without a single drop of oil being pulled out of any of them in the next ten years. They are just hoarding market share and future value of the land.

Right, over millions of Americans who will lose their health insurance in about 8 weeks. Not in a year. Not in two years. 8 weeks.

The negotiation starts there.

why did Dems set the Covid subsidies to expire .. the ACA was supposed to bring down healthcare costs .. do you want a no income cap on the Covid subsidies ? do you want the rich to get the COVID subsidy ? why didn't the ACA bring down the cost of healthcare ?
